Tipi Table

This little table does double duty; the integrated handle lets you move it easily from room to room while the wood or marble top lifts off the recycled steel base for use as a tray. Handy, right? There’s both a high and low height, so you can pair them together for a varied arrangement when it suits. Choose between oak, walnut, or Carrara marble for the top.

Daily Fiction

If you go weak in the knees for stationery stuff, you’re in trouble. Normann Copenhagen recruited Denmark-based designers Femmes Régionales to create over 200 different designs in the Daily Fiction collection. There’s 18 colors and four abstract terrazzo prints all over notebooks, stickers, pencil sharpeners, scissors, pens, pencils, and more… all that’s left to say is good luck picking which ones you’ve got to add to your collection.

Studio Arhoj Slurp Cup

Just look at the colors on Studio Arhoj’s Slurp Cups. Pretty, right? Each porcelain cup is hand-cast and glazed in various colors for an interesting take on your morning coffee or afternoon tea. You may choose to just get one for the office, or several for a set at home. There’s also the smaller Sip Cup for espressos or perhaps as a pot for smaller plants and succulents.

Price: $32.00
Available from: Studio Arhoj

Puzzle in a Puzzle

Puzzles! Put one out on your coffee table and you’ll be able to sneak in contemplation time, because who can resist putting together a few puzzle pieces? Featuring imagery by photographer KangHee Kim, these puzzles play with the eye, as each image shows a mirror within a scene, and the puzzle itself is divided along the mirror’s perimeter, creating two different puzzles in one. Complete them together or apart. Kinda fun, right?

Price: $20.00

Split Mirrors

Feeling a little disjointed? Don’t worry, it’s just the mirror. Sections of mirrored glass are cut and pushed off-center to give a playful twist to an otherwise ordinary reflection. Take a look at the designer’s website and you’ll be able to see a theme, I think. It’d be interesting to try and make your own, wouldn’t it? Bonus points to you if you make an attempt (you’ll get an A for effort).

Sophie Conran Garden Tools

How about we get a head start on spring gardening? Being in the market for garden tools myself, I’ve noticed quite a bit of ‘stylish’ garden tools with bright colors and patterns. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but if we’re cut from the same sort of cloth, you might just appreciate the no nonsense approach of stainless steel, solid brass ferrules, and natural beech wood handles of these garden tools. Plus, the Hand Rake is notable in that the springy tines are designed to avoid damaging new shoots while gathering leaves.

On The Edge Lamp

Hmm, this little lamp features a matte finish and multiple convex facets. So what, you say? Well, it’ll look and feel nice, and you’ll be able to position it in multiple ways to get the light right where you want it. Think of it as a subtle spotlight, perfect for ambient lighting in a living area or bedroom.

Hasami Porcelain Teapot

Not only does this Hasami Porcelain Teapot have a classically modern shape, it shares the same diameter as other pieces in the Hasami Porcelain collection, which allows for easy transport and stacking. That’s not only beneficial for your cabinet space, but it also makes for an efficient and aesthetically pleasing tablescape. Crafted from a custom blend of clay and porcelain, the surface is softer to the touch than traditional porcelain.

Jewelry Box by Menu

Just a little something to keep those smaller odds and ends organized… jewelry, tiny office items, and the like. The built-in mirror will help keep you looking presentable, whether it’s to check which earrings are best or if your nose hair needs trimming. The mirror is hidden when the lid is closed, so no one will suspect you of narcissism.

Blackened Steel Bar Cart

Do you need a new bar cart? One that holds a little more liquor perhaps? You could do a hell of a lot worse than this Blackened Steel Bar Cart by Brad Sherman. It’s oversized and suitably sophisticated; there’s nothing overly ornate or precious about it, so it’ll withstand a fair bit of use and still look good. Hitting just under 30″ in height, it can float behind the sofa or stand against a wall.

Purchase Information:

Price: $1,800.00
Available from: Food 52

La Savoie Book Box

Don’t have a safe? You could hide your valuables safely away from prying eyes and sticky fingers in a “mysterious” hollow book. I’ve tried making one of these before; it took a long time to cut out the inner area of pages and it took a lot of glue to make the pages stick together properly. Save yourself the trouble and get one of these for $10.

Block Shop Dhurrie Rugs

As promised, here are the Block Shop Rugs. Made of 100% Indian cotton, dyed and woven by hand, each rug features a simple, graphic design that’s sure to liven up any lonely room. Dhurries, if you’re not familiar, are flat woven rugs designed for heavy use. While they don’t have a thicker pile like other rugs, they are lightweight, durable, and reversible. Now, to choose a favorite… it’d have to be the Walter or the Temple, I think.

Baggu All Weather Bag

Originally designed for surfers, this all-weather gear bag has welded seams and a water resistant zipper to keep water completely in (or completely out, if that’s your goal). Surfers, just stand inside the bag to remove your wetsuit, then zip it up for your trip home. Sand and seawater will be safely contained within. Everyone else, know that whatever you put in the bag will stay dry no matter what (within reason).
