Roger Stool by Sika-Design

This handmade stool is made from suar wood, which, if you’re not familiar, is a fast growing (and non-endangered) tropical hardwood. It has an interlocking grain that reduces the likelihood of cracking with temperature changes, and that’s very good news for those of us that hope our furniture lasts longer than our pithy life spans. And did you see the price? Very, very affordable which is oh-so-nice to see. Use it as a low table in the living room or take it outside, as it can go back and forth to suit your place-to-put-my-drink needs.

Menu Grow Pot with Wooden Board

More plant-related paraphernalia for you, but this time the item on show is specifically for the herbs or flowers kept indoors on a windowsill. Set off by an oak plank base, the dark terra cotta planter pot will contrast nicely with a small bouquet or your favorite herbs or sprouts without disrupting the clean/minimal vibe you’ve got going on in the rest of your house. Set your Japanese garden scissors (or other elegant clippers) beside the pot for easy trimming and a casual oh-I-use-fresh-herbs-so-often-I-need-scissors-out-all-the-time sort of look.

Minna Rugs

More rugs for your consideration, this time from Minna. Sure, their scarves, pillows, and napkins are equally appealing, but let’s just focus on rugs for now. With lines, boxes, and triangles, each rug shows off a simple pattern in muted hues sure to befriend your other soft furnishings.

Polo Table Lamp

An articulated task lamp is essential if you’re at your desk in the early morning or very late at night, though let’s hope you’re not working too hard. Check out the Polo Table Lamp, with its small footprint and long, skinny arms. Three joints allow for precise illumination and smooth movement, both a must when you’re in a work zone. A succinct shade takes up little visual space, allowing for a minimal vibe that fits your workspace perfectly.

Switch Stool and Table

What’s better, a side table or a stool? That’s a tough one, so how about both? Bend Goods offers up the Switch Stool and Table. Add a glass top to the base and it’s a table. Add a stool pad (in vegan leather) and it’s a seat. The stool pad flips over for a more compact side table option too. Pretty handy to have around, don’t you think?

Trays from Kalon

Need a few nice wooden trays for snacks and drinks and such? Turn your eyes toward Kalon’s set of trays, in either bamboo or black walnut. They’re nice enough that they could venture out of the eating areas and into the living zone- perhaps to keep your pocket contents corralled or your reading stack organized?

Twin Carafe

This double-walled carafe is just about as simple as it gets. For coffee, use the center of the lid as a pour over set. Not big on coffee? The lid’s ridged edge filters loose-leaf tea. Pretty smart that the lid works for both, right? Without the lid, the glass carafe works overtime to hold water, juice, or maybe even (if you’re feeling nice) flowers.

Klein Reid Brass Top

This is a sort of gift for someone who has everything. It’s a toy, so it’s hard not to spin it around, and it’s beautiful, so even when not in use, it’s a lovely little thing to look upon. Duck Duck Pillows

Just so you know, the Duck Duck Pillows have a bunch of fun color combinations, and they’re all kind of perfect for the sofa, or a reading chair, or as an accent pillow (or two) on the bed (don’t go overboard*). My favorite? Color Mix 5 or Color Mix 3, I can’t quite decide.

Kime Shoe Horn

Do you sometimes need a shoe horn? You know, that thing that helps you put on your nice shoes without crushing their heels? If so, get this one, because it’s beautiful. Perfectly symmetrical and carved from a single piece of wood, the Kime Shoe Horn appears to be an art piece rather than a functional tool. Lucky for us, it’s both. โ€œKimeโ€ย means texture or wood grain in Japanese and is the name of the collection.

Concrete Trivet

Remember the Table Tiles Optic? Now there’s a concrete trivet with the same 3D illusion, which means you’ll be able to join several together for a larger mosaic pattern on your tabletop. Each trivet fits a kettle or saucepan, so double (or triple) them up for larger casserole dishes.

Bub Table Lamp

This isn’t the first or last bulb-stuck-in-the-side-of-a-lampshade you’ll see, but it is perhaps the most alluring. A bulb pierces the side of the hand blown glass shade, at just the right height for a friendly, floating apparition. The olive tint gives the lamp an extra amicable look that’s sure to get along with other pieces in your collection.
