Sorry for posting another item from an invite-only site, but this bench is something worth talking about. Hand laminated with birch triplex, the Bend Bench curves just so to provide a seating surface. A red rope adds a little fun into the mix and ensures stability.

Another anniversary stool? Sure, let’s have it. Alvar Aalto’s three legged Stool 60 turns 80 this year, and we’ve already seen a few other versions that piqued our collective interest. Nao Tamura’s version is decorated with the growth rings of a tree, 80 rings to be exact, and the size of the rings are never the same. Unfortunately, it appears that no US retailer carries it. Sad for those of us here in the US, not so sad for those of you on the UK side of the world.

An earlier iteration of this stool by Justin Gologorsky had a foam covering and was more than twice the current price, so I’d say this updated version is worth a look or two. The Tilt Stool has a gentle curve to its base, allowing you to keep your core muscles engaged by rocking back and forth. Turn it on its side and it becomes a stable seat or side table. It’s made of plastic, so don’t limit yourself to indoors- think patio or poolside.

So, if you peruse the decor magazines, you might have seen the ads for the Design by Conran collection at JC Penny. Have you had a chance to take a look? Yea/nay? Of what I think are the winners, first up is the Elder Chair, and despite its shape reminding me a little of Chairy or some other kid’s show chair, I like the classic proportions and generous size. It looks like the quintessential curl-up-and-read-a-book chair. And, hey, you’ve got to respect the lovely cobalt blue hue, even if it’s a bit too bold for your living area.

Speaking of height-adjustable desks, if you want something that looks less like a keyboard stand and more like an antique worktop, turn your eyes towards the Adler Table. It has a hand-operated crank, made from solid steel gears and a chromed, cast iron handle. The height range is from 27in to 42in (a little less than the X-Table) and is available in a variety of sizes, types of wood, and the steel legs can be powder-coated in almost any color.

Any piece of furniture that incorporates cork into its design has my attention, and this table by Patrick Norguet for Kristalia is no exception. A removable table top/lid means it is also a storage piece, and that’ll no doubt be useful wherever it ends up. You have a few options: white or black rotational polypropylene, with or without a genuine cork coating; white, black, or cork lid, all in either round or square.

It feels like this chair was on the wait list forever, and now, finally, at last it’s available to purchase here in the US. Before, we linked to the UK retailer Utility, but now Hivemodern carries all three versions: 4 leg, Swivel, and Sled base. The Comback chair is Patricia Urquiola’s updated version of the classic Windsor chair, with a single mold plastic form for functionality and bright colors to make it thoroughly modern.

Well, seeing as this concrete table weighs almost 100 pounds, you’ll not want to move it around much, but it’s a relief to see that it has an affordable price tag of $254. The rounded shape will soften up all those sharp edges of your other furniture, inside or out. And, chances are that this table will require less upkeep than other pieces- though don’t go tempting fate by pouring red wine or other colorful drinks over it. There’s been a lot of talk in the last year or two about the health benefits of standing while you work, but unfortunately there hasn’t been a lot of excellent options when it comes to height adjustable desks. That’s why this X-table is a welcome sight for our sore eyes and backsides. A hand-operated crank adjusts the work top from 25″ to 47.25″, so you’ll be able to change the height rather easily should you wish to switch from standing to sitting. There’s also a handy cable management space on the underside to hide messy computer cords.
