No one gets excited about bathroom trash cans, but what about a bathroom recycling separator? This two-compartment bin makes it easy to separate out trash from recycling, so you’ll not need to think twice about sorting plastics from the regular icky stuff later on. That’ll make your life a tiny bit easier, right? (Now, if someone could just make it look a little bit more exciting…)

Why, yes, we have featured the Tubelor Grande Trash Bin before (back in 2013). But the Rosewood version is new, and can we just take a moment to appreciate how pretty it is? A pretty trash can- you certainly don’t see one of those everyday. The design of the bin is made up of two parts: a decorative outer lid and the inner liner which holds the plastic bag. Hideaway Trash Bin

The humble field of trash bin design is unexciting to say the least; there’s just not much going on in the way of improvements. Muuto adds another un-fancy option to the mix. It’s just a simple bin with a lid, yet with a few extra noteworthy details. The exterior is streamlined, so it could just as easily live in your closet as a laundry basket- that gets points for versatility in the aesthetic department, don’t you think? When the lid is on, an interior trash bag is hidden by the lid’s lip. When the lid is off, it can hang on the side of the bin for easy access and safekeeping.

Dustbin by Brendan Ravenhill

Brendan Ravenhill has incorporated a dustpan into the lid of a trashcan, making most trashcan manufacturers look like idiots for not thinking of the idea before. The steel can and lid is powder coated for durability and the included beech wood brush attaches to the side of the bin with embedded rare earth magnets. It’s not often that one can express admiration over a waste container, but in this case, it’s entirely appropriate. Well done, Mr. Ravenhill, well done.
