Did you see the eclipse yesterday? That event is the only reason why a round, fringed beach towel is featured today. You’ll most likely never see the likes of it again*; let’s hope that’s not the case of other notable astronomical events.

More minimal/modern quits, and this time they’re from Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson, the Danish-Swedish team known as All The Way To Paris. The quilts are cotton with polyester filling, and each one has graphic stripe patterns in softer primary colors. And, good news, they’re sized to fit a queen bed, so they can be your main coverlet/blanket for your bedroom, and not just a small throw size that you keep wishing was just a tiny bit bigger.

Blankets in July? WTF, right? Yeah, well, it’s cold somewhere right now, and someone is going to want a soft, cozy throw to warm their toes. Plus, summer won’t last forever, and these throws by ZigZagZurich (designed by Nathalie Du Pasquier & George Sowden, founder members of Memphis movement) are relatively inexpensive and very much pattern-fantastic.

Not everyone wants to spend $175 on a beach towel, but if you’re exceptionally picky, you just might like the simple motifs on these 100% Irish linen towels. Did you know linen is very absorbent and durable? And that it’s lint-free and gets softer the more you use it? Do you feel a little bit better about the price point now?

It’s a Tonal Boob Pillow, and why wouldn’t you want one? You’re not the type to shy away from an cartoonish image of a body part, and, in fact, you can celebrate it without any of the awkwardness that may come from someone more serious.

Nice! This linen throw is by Caroline Z. Hurley, and can be used as a sofa throw, beach towel, table cloth, or wrap dress. Talk about versatile, eh? Each throw individually block printed by hand with non-toxic acrylic ink. With plenty of designs available directly from Hurley’s shop, you’re sure to find one that suits your style. There’s also a fair bit of pillows, table textiles, and rugs to peruse as well.

Just so you know, the Duck Duck Pillows have a bunch of fun color combinations, and they’re all kind of perfect for the sofa, or a reading chair, or as an accent pillow (or two) on the bed (don’t go overboard*). My favorite? Color Mix 5 or Color Mix 3, I can’t quite decide.

What might you pair with your new Hay Polygon Quilt? How about Dusen Dusen’s Alphabet or Objects Sheet Set? Yes, that makes for a lot of shapes and pattern, but that’s what makes a bed fun… riight? I’m pretty crazy about all the accompanying throw pillows but they’re all sold out (sad face). The throws are so good they’ll need their own post, so stay tuned.

I bet this cushion would kick ass in a pillow fight, though you might prefer to take a nap instead as it looks so delightfully soft. Icelandic designer Ragnheiður Ösps Sigurðardóttir was making legs for stuffed teddy bears when inspiration hit: why not tie the flexible tubes into a knot? And this comfortable, soft, sculptural cushion is the result. Pretty fun, don’t you think?

Do you have slightly musty bath towels? Uh-oh, that means bacteria is growing. Yuck. Don’t worry though, Onsen towels are to the rescue. They have a waffle weave design that is “effortlessly absorbent” and very quick to dry. Made of 100% premium cotton, they are soft and strong, yet surprisingly lightweight. Tempted to refresh your towel collection? Me too.

Let’s talk throws. They’re the sorts of things that keep your legs and feet warm indoors when it’s way too cold outside. Make sure you have at least one in your sofa’s general vicinity, if not two or three in your household to have near favorite chairs and cozy beds. Slowdown Studios has a generous helping of delightful patterns from different designers that will keep your eyes happy and your toes toasty- you may have a hard time deciding which one is your favorite.

Staying warm this fall and winter is as simple as having a good wool throw in the immediate vicinity of your sofa, bed, or desk (if your workplace is casual). Hem’s wool throw collection by fashion designer Arthur Arbesser is still available, plus some designs from Sylvain Willenz thrown in to tempt you further. Dare we say that each pattern and colorway is both modern and fun, and absolutely perfect for any interior?

If you need to refresh your bath towels, you need to look at Snowe’s offerings. I ended up buying their Starter Bathe Bundle last year* and I can honestly say they’re the nicest towels I’ve ever owned. They’re soft and lightweight, and soo much better than the top-of-the-line towels I used to buy from you know where. I am still impressed with the quality, so much so that I ended up buying another towel bundle (plus two bath sheets) from them just now**.
