Snowe Bath Towels

If you need to refresh your bath towels, you need to look at Snowe’s offerings. I ended up buying their Starter Bathe Bundle last year* and I can honestly say they’re the nicest towels I’ve ever owned. They’re soft and lightweight, and soo much better than the top-of-the-line towels I used to buy from you know where. I am still impressed with the quality, so much so that I ended up buying another towel bundle (plus two bath sheets) from them just now**.

Cayo Beach Towel

Geez, another modern beach towel? We’re up to our eyeballs here with all the choices, and this one is very tempting price-wise. I guess it doesn’t hurt to have a stack of them ready to go whenever the mood strikes- it is summer, after all. Take note of this tidbit so you can sound smart when you get compliments: this towel is designed by Dee Clements- she was inspired by architectural stained glass from the Arts and Crafts movement.

Dusen Dusen Towels

Fun! Dusen Dusen Towels are just what you need by the pool or on the beach, as the prints are lively and the colors vivid- just right for the summer sun. Pick your favorite or go crazy and get one to match each of your bathing suits. Now, if they’d just make bathing suits…

Linen Towels

There are hundreds of things I could post right now instead of these Linen Towels designed by Fredericks & Mae, but I care about you, your comfort, and your general appearance when you’re at the beach or poolside this Fourth of July weekend.

Now, you can show up with that old beach towel that has sat in the closet since high school, and, hey, maybe you’ll even look cool with your ‘vintage’ towel. However, after you’ve used it once to mop up the salt or chlorine water, you’d best not trust too much in its ability to dry you off a second or third time.

These 100% Irish linen towels are different. Sure, they look pretty amazing with their color stripes, and yes, linen is exceptionally cool and fresh in hot weather, but did you know linen holds around 20 times its weight in water and dries much faster than a normal terry cloth towel? No? Well, you do now. Plus, their size is large enough to double as a decent blanket or wall hanging; you can’t say that for your existing beach/pool towel, now, can you?

Hay Pool Towels

You guessed it, Scholten and Baijings are back again, this time with towels to make sure your design sensibility is not offended while you’re poolside. After all, you wouldn’t want to be caught lounging/swimming without a fun, color blocked, 100% cotton towel made by one of our favorite dynamic duos, would you? No? I didn’t think so.

Bamboo bath towels

It’s nice when the major retailers start selling renewable products:

“An eco-friendlier bath. Wrap up in a silky blend of 65% bamboo and 35% combed Egyptian cotton. Bamboo yarn absorbs faster than cotton, is softer than cotton, and is naturally antibacterial for hygienic daily use. Not to mention bamboo is grown in a pesticide-free environment.”

•Wide end hem border
•Made with soft, highly absorbent (600 grams), pre-shrunk yarns
•65% bamboo, 35% Egyptian cotton
•Machine wash warm, tumble-dry low

Calvin Klein Towels

I stayed with some friends recently while in NYC and I didn’t realize how pathetically wimpy my towels were until I used theirs. They’re thick and absorbent and what a towel should be. And they’re on sale at Bloomingdales.

“Less is More” beach towel

If Mies Van Der Rohe were going to the beach, what would he bring to lounge on? I think it would be this beach towel.

I know this is not “season appropriate” but it’s on sale and maybe some of you are planning a nice little holiday trip to a sunny beach somewhere.
