Please Call Key

Have you ever lost your keys? Or found someone else’s? This Please Call Key by Noah Lambert will give any finder your mobile or office number so they can call and let you know your keys have been found. Engraved to a depth of .005″, the number will be legible for years, so make sure it’s one you’ll keep. Once you and your keys are reconnected, be sure to thank whoever found them profusely, as they just made your life a little easier.

Minimalist 2 Key Ring Bottle Opener

This key ring looks more like a piece of jewelry than a bottle opener, so I suppose we could look at it as multi-purpose kind of accessory. A triangle pin keeps the shackle closed, keeping your keys secure and your hand at the ready should an unopened bottle of beer or soda cross your path. Each key ring is precisely cut within thousandths of an inch by family company J. L. Lawson & Co.

Bicycle Spoke Keyring

If you’ve spent a lot of time on two wheels, you might recognize that this keyring is made from used bike spokes. Just screw/unscrew the spoke nipple to add or remove keys; it’s as simple as that. And don’t go thinking you have to be a bicycle nut to have one of these- the simple reuse of a spoke is reason enough to consider it for your everyday keys. Available from scene3.

Smash Cup

You can plan to donate or recycle your big travel mug, because you won’t need it once the Smash Cup ships in October. But you love your travel mug, don’t you? Well, is your mug collapsible and highly portable? No? I thought so. The Smash Cup is a reusable cup that can be ‘smashed’ down after you’ve finished your coffee/tea. Fun, right? It’s leak-proof, so you can stuff it in your bag or pocket without worrying about drips or spills. Keep it with you throughout the day and eliminate disposable cups from your daily routine. Permission to now boast about your eco-friendly credentials granted.

Contour Key Rings

There’s something altogether satisfying about a large key ring. It’s less likely to get lost, for one, and hooking it onto a bag or belt is much easier, even if you do sound like a janitor when you’re walking around. A screw clasp will save your fingers/fingernails, and each one would hold dozens of keys, or perhaps just ensure that the two or three keys you carry around won’t be misplaced. The Contour Key Rings are available in four distinct shapes: Bend, Drop, Hoop, and Bell.

Ringtool

Nice! The Ringtool is a compact toolkit that lives on any standard keyring. Hardened stainless steel (strength + corrosion resistance) means it’ll withstand a rough and tumble world. It has five different Hexheads, a Flathead and Phillips Driver, a Torxhead, and two Spoke Wrenches, so it’s a good choice for any cyclist that would rather not lug around a bigger toolkit.

Sugru Fix-It-All Kit

Hooray! Sugru is now available at MoMA, and that means more people can fix and modify all sorts of things with this magic stuff. Sugru, if you’re not familiar with it already (Simon wrote about it back in 2010), is a self-setting rubber that you can mold like play-dough. It bonds to almost everything and sets into a flexible, water-proof silicone rubber overnight. Use it to make tools easier to grip, mend broken wires, put bumpers on your phone, and more. You may also buy the kit directly from Sugru ($22), fyi.

Hi-Reflective Umbrella

A black umbrella in rainy weather doesn’t make much sense, as you run the risk of blending in with the background and being invisible to oncoming traffic. Now, this Hi-Reflective Umbrella would certainly ensure your visibility, as it reflects the light off of street lamps and headlights to make sure you shine.

Flexi Flash

No, the Flexi Flash is not a new dance move, nor is it an old disco rock band (to my knowledge), but it is a small lighting device that can light your way in the dark. Beam and strobe options are features, as well as silicone handle that makes it bendable and easy to attach to your bag or bike.

Cory Arcangel Umbrella

If it’s going to rain, you might as well brighten up the dreariness with a bright red umbrella, and if that bright red umbrella’s design is based on a PhotoShop gradient Cory Arcangel made for Showpaper, well, then that’s even better. The only drawback is you might have a few inquiries from strangers asking where you obtained such a delightfully graphic rain shield, and then you’ll have to (ugh) talk to them instead of pretending to ignore everyone.

Keytags

Know a blogger, a bon vivant, or a bad ass? What about a fashion editor, a freeloader, or a philanderer? Maybe one of those people needs a keychain with their stand-out attribute written for all to see, or maybe you need a bunch to label your keys and/or yourself. Ollie

I know you don’t need yet another thing to put in your wallet, but what if this extra thing could fit all sorts of handy tools like a bottle opener, ruler, spoke wrench, protractor, metric and standard ruler, metric wrenches, drill guides, and a 1/8″ hex drive, all in one slender credit-card-like shape? Maybe then you’d find some room? Laser cut and etched from 18 gauge stainless steel or titanium, the Ollie arms you with the tools to do all sorts of everyday odd jobs. Back the project for $25 for the stainless steel version, or $35 for the titanium.

Therm-O Bottle

Hmm, this looks quite similar to the Noble Glass Thermos posted over a year ago, and if deductive reasoning is correct, we’ll assume it’s made by the same manufacturer. Made of borosilicate glass, this bottle will keep your beverages the temperature you want- hot tea or coffee will stay hot, cool ice water/beverages will stay cool. The double-wall feature keeps the outside surface free of condensation and heat, and it comes with a removable stainless steel tea strainer.

The Peanut Lighter

Next time you venture into the great outdoors for a camping trip, make sure you have a lighter in addition to your matches and flint, because, as we all know, it’s better to be safe than sorry. And, because there’s no need to be excessive, you might as well get this very compact and indestructible lighter to carry along with you. Made of high grade stainless steel, it has a secure screw down cap (that can be attached to a keyring), is waterproof, and measures 0.5″ x 1.9″.
