If you spend any time in the wilderness, you’d do well to add one of these to your emergency kit. It’s a water purifying straw that removes “99.9999% of waterborne bacteria and 99.9% of parasites without any use of chemicals.” That’ll be a lifesaver if you’re ever lost or- doomsday scenario- if some disaster strikes and makes the regular water supply unsafe to drink. If you prefer a little lemon or lime in your water, then you need to sit up and pay attention. Yeah I know, canning jars are extremely trendy right now, even more than the actual canning process. I’m drinking out of one in a coffee shop at this exact moment. But beyond fashion, they are simple and robust in their design, perfect for drinking glasses. However, the open top proves to be unwieldy when on-the-go. The Stanley Adventure Multi Use Bottle is your answer for a stainless steel travel bottle that has a bit more design consideration and function. It features a twist off body that converts to a cup, volume markings, as well as a regular quick drinking spout. Also, I imagine twisting it apart makes it that much easier to clean compared to the traditional steel/aluminum bottles with narrow necks, which require a cleansing tablet to thoroughly sanitize. Holds 32 oz and is dishwasher safe.

Here’s yet another water bottle for your consideration. The Eau Good Water Bottle features a stick of ‘Binchotan’ active charcoal which purifies tap water for up to 6 months. Finally, someone created a glass reusable water bottle that’s designed properly and looks awesome too. Other alternatives I’ve seen get pretty close, but I feel like this design certainly nails it. Besides the bamboo sleeve adding quite a bit of style, it fully protects the glass interior. Glass provides an always guaranteed safe drink and can accommodate hot or cold beverages. The parts of the bottle easily disassemble for cleaning and are dishwasher safe, except for the bamboo sleeve.

Okay, now that this thing is actually available for sale, I’m curious as to how well it works. Anyone know? It sounds almost too good to be true. It’s made from BPA-free recycled plastic (so it’s also recyclable) and has a carbon-based filter which lasts about the equivalent of 300 water bottles. There’s six different filter colors to choose from too.
