Magnetic Mirror Shelf

Who needs a small-ish magnetic mirror with a shelf? Because this one is the bee’s knees, as the saying goes. Set your phone, sunglasses and keys on the shelf in an entryway or office for safekeeping, or even hang it in the bathroom to have a handy spot for toiletries. The magnetic backing (plus two included magnets) offers you all the more storage- be sure to utilize that feature by posting reminders, notes, or special keepsake photos out where you’ll see them everyday.

Just how are you going to look at that cow lick or bald spot at the back of your head without contorting crazily in the bathroom mirror at work? By having a handy pocket mirror, of course. Dorian Table Mirror

There seems to be more mirrors made of polished stainless steel nowadays, and that’s a very good trend in the design world, as it allows for more variation in form and color. Just look at the angled sides of the Dorian Table Mirror by Martin Hirth for Pulpo. They allow the mirror to stand alone on a tabletop, and, when you’re not gazing lovingly at your face, you can admire the mirror as a sort of metal sculpture. A shelf protrudes outward at the base, giving you a parking spot for your small sundries. Plus, there are three excellent color options: gold, silver, or blue.

Shapes Mirror: Oblong

An oblong reflective surface is set off by a contrasting matte color panel, giving this frameless Shapes Mirror the sort of look you’d get from a geometric art piece. The squared off base tends to suggest a tabletop placement, making it an ideal choice for a vanity or entryway area.

Coin Mirror by 45 Kilo

What’s the big deal about a piece of polished copper? For starters, it’s hand-polished to a mirror shine, so you can see your face in it every day (you’ll have a rosy glow, which will do wonders for your self-confidence). The copper will take on a warm patina over time, giving it an ageless appeal and character- perhaps you’ll be lucky enough to say the same about your face?

Easy Mirror

Stainless steel mirrors are a smart purchase- you’d have to try hard to break them, of course, and they could also possibly double as a weapon. Those two things aside, this Easy Mirror designed by Jamie Wolfond is also really convenient for the glamorous sort of vagabond. Simply press the leg outward to make it stand vertical, then press it back flat when it’s time to pack it away.

Utility Mirror

You know that weird section of your hair on the back of your head? This hand mirror will help you see it, and hopefully fix it, so you won’t look like a bum when you roll into the office each morning. It’s made by polishing a piece of stainless steel to a mirror finish, and then dipping it into an industrial rubber tool grip. You certainly won’t need to worry about breaking it (to clarify, by dropping it) because there’s no glass to break.

XLBoom’s Keywest Mirrored Key Cabinet

Finally, there’s a spot for a mirror and all your family’s keys, wrapped up into one very decent package. A no-fuss painted MDF case features a mirror on the door, so you can check that lovely mug of yours before you head out to face the day. Open the door, and look! So much room and so many hooks, even a persnickety janitor would be pleased.

Silicone Wall Mirrors

These two round mirrors are especially suited to a more casual atmosphere, as their frames are coated in silicone. Think of the larger 20″ mirror above a bathroom sink or console in a hallway. The smaller 6″ size is best hung somewhere handy so you can make sure your face is presentable before you head out the door. And, if you’re not too fond of the ‘Ferrari Red’ color, don’t you worry, there’s also the go-with-everything standbys black and white.

Slide Mirror

Sad news: it looks like there’s not a retailer stateside that carries these mirrors anymore. Happy news: you can buy them directly from the designer, Sylvain Willenz.

If you buy either of these mirrors, you might just have to get the Cuboid Doormat to continue the 3D illusion. Maybe add the Half a Table by Niels Van Eijk & Miriam Van der Lubbe and some seating from Acne for a distinct fun-house vibe.
