Core77′s 2010 gift guide is out, and it’s got more than a few gems. This Tongue Bookmark would be a nice little addition to any library.

How many times have you juggled your glass of wine with a small plate of hors d’oeuvres, wishing fervently to not to make an ass of yourself by dropping either (or both) when the inevitable shaking of hands/introductions are made? Such awkwardness can be avoided; these plates hold your wine glass for you, allowing a free hand to feed your face or shake the hand of some new acquaintance. Though, may I suggest not bringing one of these to someone else’s party, rather, that you get some for your guests, and hope that they’ll have the ‘ah-ha’ moment and do the same for you at their next soirée.

Man, I need to stay away from Svpply, there’s so many things that I’d love to buy, it’s downright dangerous. This print was inspired by old classroom wall charts and is printed with archival quality inks. The A4 size of this print has already sold out, so you better act quick if you want one of your own. There’s also an A1 (23.4 × 33.1 inches) size for €95.00.
Limited edition of 50.

I do hope you’re navigating Cyber Monday with aplomb. There are so many sales offering 15%-30% off it’s pretty much impossible to name them all, but I’m sure you’ve snapped up some bargains, or will have done so before the day is done.
As the holiday season is officially in full swing, might I direct your eyes to this self-adhesive tree wall sticker by Fred Tomaselli? Measuring in at 72″ high (6′) and 17″ wide, it’ll fit into any tight corner, and, with no annoying needles to sweep up and no ornaments to worry about, it’s just about the easiest tree to have.

Hmm, this is pretty neat. Using natural acoustics (specially designed sound channels), this dock amplifies the iPhone’s built in speaker by 2 to 4 times. While not intended to replace electronic amplifiers, the size and style might suit your needs for low to medium volume music. All of the external buttons and controls of the phone are easily accessible while the phone is docked and there’s several different wood bodies to choose from.

Remember the calendar from Ghin last year? As the next year is just around the corner, the Calendar 2011 is now available. Also, this year, there’s a bespoke service where you can have your own special days marked.

Maybe some of these animals tend to lean towards the ‘slightly creepy’ category, but nevertheless, I’d say they could be a perfect smallish gift this holiday season. Just be sure to get the recipient’s birth year (which could prove difficult) and then match it to the correct animal of the Chinese Zodiac (find their sign here).

This tea towel is infected by a ‘Design Virus’. Designed by Pieke Bergmans (of Crystal Virus fame) for the Textile Museum, her aim is to create “personalized mass production” where irregularities are included rather than discarded.
Tea towel Error 3 is shown above, and there’s a total of 6 Tea towel Errors in red or blue to choose from on Wannekes.com.

Organize your cables with this USB Battleship Hub. Created by the design duo Giffin’ Termeer, the idea was that the “boat shape could be an ‘organizing image’ to visually manage the tangle”… it’s also weighted so that it won’t topple over.

This modular coat rack could be perfect for an entryway where you might need a little customization in order to fit the space. Since it can get expensive for the larger patterns (like the 23 piece one below), you might want to start out with the 7 piece ‘freeform’ to see how it works first.
Shown above: Thru-Block coat rack with nine wooden blocks with 5 evenly spaced holes drilled through them. $600.00

You might have heard of the Buddha Machine, but do you own one? The Buddha Machine is a small plastic box that plays ambient loops, sort of like an AM radio except with specific tracks. Music that comes from the Buddha Machine is intended to provide calm and inspiration for our fast-paced lives, and can be experienced through the built-in speaker or through headphones. Also, there’s a Buddha Machine iPhone app if you’d prefer it on your phone or iPod. See the youtube video below if you’re curious to see it in action before buying.

These cork trivets are made to look just like toast, which is a cute thing for the breakfast table (unless you have really bad eyesight). Right now it looks like the ‘side order’ of 2 pieces is out of stock, but the ‘half loaf’ of 6 pieces is available.
Approximately 4″ x 4″ x 3/8″
