pencil+

Do you refuse to give up on your pencils? Me too. I generally keep them around until they’re too small to use, and that’s just where the pencil+ comes in to save the day. It’s an all-in-one extender, sharpener and transporter. The sharpener is built into the end, so you’ll always have a sharp point when you want it. Smart, right?

Lenz Pen & Pencil Case

Every so often, do you wish you had a nice pen and pencil case? I know I do. This one from Sonnenleder caught the eye, as it has elastic straps to keep up to 8 writing implements neatly organized. And, yes, sure, most of us rely on keyboards and trackpads nowadays, but it’s still nice to slide a pen or pencil across a page every now and then. (I think I will always prefer it.)

Rule/One

How much do you want the Rule/One? I guess that all depends how often you measure things, or how often you need a straight line. The Rule/One is a aluminum ruler and a pen, all in one. The pen clicks into place inside the spine of the ruler thanks to a strong magnet. With three interchangeable heads (pen on paper, stylus tablet, or lanyard attachment), you can alter it to suit your needs. Plus, its droplet shape makes it suitable as a bookmark as well.

Standing Pens

A special, standing pen! It won’t walk away from the reception’s guestbook, because it’s a big pen with geometric heft, and can’t be tucked into a pants pocket easily (without an obvious bulge, that is). The tip is easily removable for refill with any ballpoint pen cartridge. Available in several colors and three different shapes.

Peacock Pen

Talk about signing paperwork with a flourish, this pen will give any handwritten note an air of importance. Is it slightly silly? Yes, it is, until you stop and appreciate the absurd beauty of a peacock. Then, perhaps, it becomes a little elegant and also- not to be dismissed- extremely hard for coworkers to steal from your desk without being caught.

Dux Brass Pencil Sharpener

Do you use pencils? Do you have a plastic pencil sharpener? Pfft. Toss it in the recycling bin, because this one is much better. Made of solid brass, the Dux sharpener is built to last. The weight of it alone would keep it from getting lost/shuffled around with your other desk tools, but there’s no guarantee that it wouldn’t walk away with a coworker with sticky fingers, so watch out.

Tanno Free Case

Pen and pencil cases aren’t just for school-age children, you know. Those of us on the go don’t want to leave our prized writing/drawing instruments behind, and a case that has a trick up its sleeve might be just the thing to keep our bags and workspaces organized (and clients and coworkers impressed?). Similar to vintage ‘trick boxes’, this Tanno Free Case requires one push of its wood button for the tray to pop out. Sort of fun, isn’t it? Fully constructed in wood save for the one metal spring, the case is a lesson in craftsmanship.
