Okay, ‘love’ would be an appropriate word to describe my feelings towards these Cactus Vases by Serax. Texture! Color! Shape! And, of course, they look like cacti. Get a bunch of them, please, and arrange them on shelves or tables until you are completely content. No need to fill them with flowers, but, if you want, get a bunch of pretty stems every once in a while just to remind yourself that they are, in fact, vases.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall… you’re different enough to hang in my home. The Hex Mirror by by Alex Drew & No One features a contrasting inside edge just to make it more special. They also offer the Simplex Mirror, which has a triangular mirror inside a rectangular frame, with a few lines thrown in to accentuate the point. The Simplex Hydrangea, perhaps my favorite, has the same design but with an antiqued, color-washed mirror. Oh, and to make things even better, you can work with the designer to change up the colors to suit your specific taste. Fun.

These end grain ButcherBlocks are very durable; the design allows you to cut in between the fibers of the wood instead of across them like most cutting boards. This makes for easy maintenance and a very long lifetime, which are two important features for any cutting board over the $100 mark.

How many kettles look like they belong on a tablecloth amongst finger sandwiches and scones? Not too many. The stainless steel Cha Teapot was designed by Naoto Fukasawa- that’s worth mentioning, of course- and has a magnetic steel bottom that makes it suitable for induction cooking. One might argue that ‘clever’ may not be the best description of Raumgestalt’s Picture Ledge, as it is, in fact, two pieces of wood held together by an elastic band. The more craftier among us may be able to replicate the design with just a little elbow grease (to cut the wood) and determination (to search for the right sort of rubber band). However, if you refuse to pick up a hand saw and really, really need a place to display some extra pictures, notes or photos, maybe you’ll decide to buy a few of the ledges and call it a day*.

Have you seen any decent garden hose storage options? If you have, please don’t keep it to yourself. If you haven’t, I may need to bite the bullet and buy the Mirtoon Automatic Hose Reel, as it doesn’t offend my very finicky design sensibilities. It’s wall mounted, can pivot 180 degrees, and automatically stops and retracts with a little tug. The spray gun has 5 settings and an adjustable nozzle. Sure, it could be a tiny bit more streamlined, but that’s being extremely picky considering the alternatives.
