Well, if tents and track tarps are going to be recycled, why not into a rug? I like how each one will be slightly different, and the colors vary from natural to worn greens. This could work anywhere from an office to kid’s room (in my opinion).

We didn’t do any kind of Father’s Day gift guide this year, mainly because there weren’t a lot of requests, but mostly because we didn’t feel it necessary. You know what to get your father, right? No? Well, if your father figure likes cooking or grilling, I recommend this apron by Winter Session. It’s made from raw, unwashed denim and has the look of brand new overalls. Plus, there’s several pockets for tools and such.

An incredibly affordable-yet-stylish floor lamp is not something you come across everyday, yet here we are, checking out this lamp by A/R Studio at CB2 for $149. That’s right, it’s on sale from $200, and if you need extra lighting, it’s definitely worth considering. Composed of a solid white oak frame, cocoa linen shade and red cloth cord, which adjusts to raise or lower the shade.

No need to share your opinion with these cups; just hand over the appropriate one to your companion and they’ll know exactly what you think of them. Or not. Handpainted by Polly George’s father, they’re not cheap, but they sure are fun. If you care about presentation, or just simply the way papers or collections are kept, you’ll probably nerd out a little with me about this binder. Originating around 1917 from the KABE Verlag (KABE publication) company, the Springback binder was intended to instantly bind documents into a book, singly or in batches. A hidden binding can be opened and closed to rearrange or add contents, making it functional as a regular binder yet more secure as with a book cover. Keep in mind that the spine of the binder is rather large to accommodate the function, but I’d say that’s a small price to pay for such a finished look.

Throw out those gross tension rod shelves and suction cup baskets in your shower. This shower curtain has four large self-draining pockets to hold your bottles, two loops for toothbrushes and razors, and, on the outside, towel loops. Machine washable and water repellent, you’ll have no need for a liner, as you can throw this curtain into the wash when it needs a cleaning. If you don’t mind the utilitarian feel, it’s a great choice for a bathroom short on storage.

I seriously like Kickstarter. There’s quite a few smart product ideas looking to get a little support, and it sure doesn’t take much money to help out. Case in point, these Wallplates by Justin Porcano. I’d say they’re an improvement on Paul Koh’s Toggle and Rocker Key Switch in that the hook (and/or envelope) function is located to the side instead of above the actual switch. Pledge $15 or more and you get the Hook version, shown on right.

This diminutive (6.3″ high, 7.1″ circumference) matte black pendant lighting would be perfect for above the dining room or even above a kitchen island in multiples.

These glasses would be excellent to have at your next dinner party, wouldn’t they? The graphics are musical notations for the correct level of liquid to produce the perfect pitch when a user runs their finger along the rim of the glass. As the price is for a set of 2, you’ll need to shell out a fair amount of dough to get a complete octave.

As we all know, goals are often easy to dream up but sometimes very hard to accomplish. Designer Victor Jack Mathieux set out to make a planner that has a step-by-step guide for setting goals. Intended for absolutely anyone, the easy format is a snap to follow and will help you define your resources and action plan. Once you have the plan down on paper, all that’s left is putting it into practice. Could be a thoughtful gift for a recent graduate.
