Gramovox Floating Record

A floating record? What is this, a magic show? Nope, it’s just a simple rethinking of the record player. This turntable plays records vertically- allowing you to enjoy and showcase your records “as both art and a medium to produce analog sound.” If you’re thinking that sounds gimmicky, you’ll be reassured hearing about the dynamic, full-range stereo speakers (two Tymphany 2″ neodymium speakers, to be exact) and a choice between 33-1/3 or 45 RPM (record clamps for both included). More info over at Gramovox.

Yupik Light

You probably can’t tell from the photo above, but this Yupik Light is made from polypropylene foam. That makes it very sturdy and extremely light. And did you notice the clear polycarbonate diffuser? It looks a little like a car headlight, doesn’t it? Set it on its side on a table, place it on the ground facing upwards, or hang it from the ceiling using the included hook. It’s an affordable light with many possible uses all over your home.

Outline Trivets

Who needs a trivet? Maybe your dining table, considering Thanksgiving is next month. Better to be prepared than have a big, burnt mark once you clear the table, right? An elegant outline of geometric shapes has been laser cut from smoked oak veneer. Consider all three for a spectactular spread or just one or two for smaller soirees.

Price: $30.00 - 50.00

Gugo Glass Pitcher Jugs

Nice jugs. See, I can say that aloud without fearing a punch in the face. You might need to be a little more careful, especially if you give one of these as a gift to a favorite co-worker or your mother-in-law.

The Gugo Pitcher Jugs are designed by Kanz Architetti and produced by Venetian glass artisan Erre Soffieria. And, if you haven’t noticed the prices, do take a look. Pleasantly surprised? Me too.

mc&co Irregular Round Mirror

You see an irregular round mirror, which is sort of interesting, and then, as you step to the side, a punch of day-glow color from the recessed frame hits you in the face. That, my friend, raises the bar from sort-of-interesting to high-five-awesome. There’s a few different options in colored glass as well as frames; take a look at mc&co for the full collection.

Go the minimal route with these Round Walnut Wall Hooks or the Solid Brass Square Wall Hooks. Both sets are by the designer Farrah Sit and may be purchased through her website, Light and Ladder, or from Kaufmann Mercantile.

Grip Band Serving Tray

Whoooaa, steady, there! Maybe you need the Grip Tray- it will keep those beverages in place as they travel from kitchen to dining room, or, as the case may be, to the living room (you big couch potato, you). Silicone bands wrap around the outside to make sure things stay put no matter how wobbly or weak your arms may be. There’s a Parallel (above) and Round size (shown below) available in a black or white color scheme.

Objetis are magnetic pegs perfect for hanging your keys, jewelry, or headphones right where you can see them. They come with a magnetic back-plate to ensure a firm hold. The Weather Station

You need a smartphone to check the weather? Pfft. You wouldn’t if you had this Weather Station affixed outside within view of the kitchen sink. Best Made Co. has joined forces with a manufacturer in Germany to bring you a weather station that does things the old fashioned way. A thermometer and a hygrometer simultaneously read heat and humidity; when both needles cross in the hatched section of the gauge, you’ll know it’ll be a pleasant day. Those city folk can have their phones- you’ll rely on something that’ll never need a power cord, thank you very much.

Bare Ring Sconce

I doubt you’ll find a more exposed or minimal wall light than this Bare Ring Sconce from Brendan Ravenhill and Eric Trine. It suspends the bulb in a simple brass ring, with a glass socket to reveal the light’s electrical components. Honesty definitely is the best policy when it comes to this fixture. Available in a hard-wire version with powder coated steel wall plate or a a plug-in version with switch.

Plus Concrete Modular Storage Solution

Set your mind to modular mode, and you’ll see that the Plus collection is a solution to your storage woes. Three concrete cubes can be combined in different ways to make furniture; there’s a single storage cube that can also be used as a seat, a longer bench, and a larger square table. Build a bookcase, a console, or just have one as a side table and/or seat. I’m sure you’ll have fun moving and stacking them into various configurations… although they are a little heavy, so you’ll be building muscle mass every time you shuffle them around.

Manual Coffeemaker

Talk about slowing down to enjoy the brew, this Manual Coffeemaker will force you to do just that. The double-walled Borosilicate glass shell keeps in heat while sitting upon a bamboo base; just add a filter and your grounds, pour in hot water, and then wait patiently while your coffee drips slowly into your cup. It’s a pretty alternative to other more clunky and robust setups.

Want Shelf

Treat your books, art, or tchotchkes right with the Want Shelf by Andrew Coslow’s studio. The interior is kept at a natural wood grain (with protective clear coat) while the outside is finished in a white wash. The warm wood grain guides your eye towards the items on the shelf, while the end caps seemingly give them a protective embrace- no bookends necessary.
