Jackson Pollock Table Textiles

Do you find these Jackson Pollock Table Textiles amusing? Those of us with any interest in art history may be a tiny bit offended (eating on a likeness of a Pollock painting? Gasp!), yet the pragmatic side of us must admit his art could hide a multitude of dining sins, thus making these textiles very… convenient.

Wire Planters by Norm Architects

If things feel dull and dreary in a room, perhaps you need a plant or two. Plants are excellent for purifying the air and they give a much needed dose of nature (and texture) into boring rooms. The Wire Planters by Norm Architects elevate plants at varying heights, which makes things more interesting and, well, more natural.

Alphacrete, Concrete Neon Light

Get your message across with some heavy lettering- though you’d be smart to keep it short and sweet (each letter sets you back $200). Maybe just one, short word? Seletti’s Alphacrete Lamps have neon glass surrounded by concrete for a sharp contrast. Kind of fun, right? They can go indoors or outside and can be hung on the wall or kept on a tabletop or shelf. Keep in mind to add the right transformer to your order for the amount of letters you buy.

Brushhanger

Are you always looking for a decent clothes brush when you travel? Check out the Brushanger from Tim Parsons. It’s an updated version of an original design from the 1930s. The hanger folds up to form a handle for the central brush, allowing you to brush off your coat/jacket efficiently. And, of course, that makes the Brushanger easier to pack away in your luggage as well.

Supermetal Table by Chiara Ferrari

If you’re a minimalist, you may need help picking your jaw up off the floor, then a tissue to wipe your tears. The Supermetal Table by Chiara Ferrari is impressive- it features a very thin single-sheet top with squared-off metal legs (placed flush to the tabletop, of course). It’s just what any super-minimalist wants, except for the tiny little part of it only being available for delivery in Southern California.

Magnetic Dustpan and Brush Set

Tidying up will become much easier when you pick up this Magnetic Dustpan and Brush Set by Bürstenhaus Redecker. Not only does it have a horsehair brush and an oiled beech handle, which will feel right at home in your hand, but embedded magnets let the brush snap back in place on the dustpan once you’re done. Be sure to take a look at the Shoe Cleaning Hedgehog too- it’s pretty cute.

This pie-shaped wooden block holds knives in place on both of its sides, so you can line up your whole collection within easy reach. Note that you could place it against your backsplash to save room or even use it as a bookend for your cookbooks. So, now to decide, do you prefer Acacia wood or walnut?

Koinobori Travel Laundry Bag

You may scoff at this travel laundry bag, as it’s not the fanciest, nor the most efficient. However, when one is living out of a hotel room, as I am now, one tends to appreciate a brightly colored bag for less-than-fresh clothes that’s slim enough to fit snugly inside a shallow drawer or stuffed suitcase. It’s certainly more cheerful than a space bag, that I can tell you.

Blu Dot x Handsome Bike

Let’s call this an altruistic purchase, because if you buy a Handsome Bike, Blu Dot will donate a bike in your name to World Bike Relief. Nice! This particular Handsome Cycle is single speed and has coaster brakes, a Brooks saddle and leather gripped handlebars. It’s a pretty perfect machine for getting you around town, and you’ll enjoy it all the more knowing there’s someone else in a developing country cruising around on their own bike because of you.

Neat Lounge Chair

Look at this cute little lounge chair from Blu Dot. It’s completely upholstered, so it has a snug and comfortable appearance. Sure, it looks friendly, and your backside will most likely confirm that its sloping seat and back is indeed amiable. Choose Citron or Blue for a color kick, or Grey for a more subdued statement.

Reflective Notabag

The reflective straps on this Notabag are sure handy, as they will make you very visible when you’re out and about at night. But, the design of the straps is even handier; do you notice their angle? With a single pull of those straps, the bag transforms from a tote into an easy backpack. That makes carrying contents much more convenient, either by foot or by bicycle. Smart.

2017 Sunlight Calendar

Another calendar for your consideration… this one subtly shifts tones from one month to the next, signaling seasonal changes with a “haze of hues.” Pretty, right? Inspired by the sun’s height and intensity, the year is laid out with intuitive color. Don’t worry, the cold winter months are pretty too, perhaps sometimes in direct contradiction with what you may feel when you step outdoors.
