Magneto

Nice! This petite shelf system uses powerful neodymium magnets to hold each shelf to a metal panel. That means you can move the shelves around as you wish, and use them to hold up papers, photos, etc. so you won’t misplace anything (ever). The back panel measures in at 18″ x 24″, so it could fit in all sorts of spots.

Core Coffee Press

You’re not likely to part with your coffee press, especially if you use it everyday, but just in case the one you have isn’t operating to the best of its abilities, you’ll want to know about the Core Coffee Press. Designed by Rivers of Japan, it consists of a heat-resistant glass beaker and stainless steel mesh press (no paper filter needed). The outer holder protects your hands from the hot glass/water and minimizes the visual mess often found in more traditional coffee making paraphernalia.

Smart Warmer 3 in 1

Don’t assume this is just a flashlight, because it has two bonus functions. It’s a hand warmer as well, and you can carry it around with you to keep your fingers comfortably warm for up to three hours. That might not sound like a big deal when you’re nice and warm in your home or office, but tell me if you feel differently when your little fingers are like icicles on your next commute. The Smart Warmer is rechargeable, and (the other bonus function) it can also charge your iPhone.

Sphere Table

Hmm… the idea behind this Sphere Table is to be commended, but I believe we’ll all have differing opinions as to the choice of materials. Now, considering this table was created by Hella Jongerius as a special furniture piece for North Delegates Lounge at the United Nations headquarters in New York, it’s understandable that it has a commercial feel that some may not like for their own home’s interior. The opalescent acrylic glass that forms the ‘bubble’ would definitely be more at home in a futuristic setting than in a more worn-in, vintage room, yet we all know that having a private and sheltered space when working is valuable, and certain things that allow us such space are worth getting used to.

    Paperback Notes

Despite having the latest version of the iPhone, do you still write down your grocery or to-do list on a sticky note? I certainly do; sometimes it’s simpler to write a list with a pen on paper, and then cross them off as completed, rather than type them in a notepad or calendar app. If you feel the same, then take a look at these Paperback adhesive notes. They fit perfectly on the back of the iPhone (removable adhesive covers most of their surface), and give a little more room to jot notes than a traditional sticky note. Use one at a time, or attach a small stack for additional lists later on.

    HS1 48-Inch Wall Shelves

The HS1 48-Inch Wall Shelves by Henry Julier have a unique bracket which acts as a shelf support as well as a bookend, and that’s good news for everyone, as there’ll be less book avalanches startling us out of our reveries. Maple shelves are combined with the steel brackets, and you can select 2, 3, or 4 shelves for your space, as well as several bracket color options. If you have more to store, not to worry, there’s the HS1 108-Inch Wall Shelves with a longer length; for a smaller option, there’s the set of 2 HS1 Wall Shelf Brackets (shown below).

    Fire Kit

If you’ve ever fumbled about in drawers and pockets to find a set of matches, you might just need want a dignified canister to keep them safe at hand in a designated spot. Set your eyes upon Fort Standard’s Fire kit, which is a spin-off of the Life is Precious Survival Kit they designed for Wallpaper’s Handmade Exhibition. The brass canister is waterproof and contains strike anywhere matches and a cotton ball in the cap for tinder. “Fire – Light & Warmth – Strike on bottom” is engraved on the surface, reminding the user to use the roughened bottom as the striker.

    Maharam Frame Bag Indigo

Indigo, anyone? Yeah, you’ve seen the Safety Orange version, but the Indigo is sooo incognito. Designed by Konstantin Grcic for Maharam, the Frame Bag displays its architecture on its exterior. Standing Bowl

If you have a very good memory, you probably remember seeing this bowl before when Gregory Buntain, of Fort Standard, shared his holiday Gift Ideas. It’s well past the shopping frenzy that is December, but I still have my eye on the Standing Bowls, and their splendid “architecturally inspired” planar legs. Each bowl is finished with a food-safe powder coating, so it’d be just at home in the kitchen or dining room as anywhere else.

    Spektral Mobile

As we anxiously await spring, let’s preemptively add color to the dreariest room in the house with a colorful Spektral Mobile. Yes, it is very colorful and would be quite the brave decision for those of us prone to choosing grays, blacks, and browns when it comes to furnishings and accessories, but it would be nice to see a little rainbow color moving around in the breeze, wouldn’t it?

    Studio 5 Sound Dock

There’s a ton of choices for Bluetooth speakers nowadays, so how do you choose one right for you? Well, first off, what size do you need? If you need one that will be at home on a desk or countertop, or your bedside table, be sure to consider the Studio 5 Sound Dock, which offers Lightning compatibility, dual-pairing Bluetooth, auxiliary input, and bass control. Dual Bluetooth will be especially handy, as you and your friend’s/roomate’s/lover’s/partner’s music libraries can be paired to the speaker simultaneously, thus eliminating going back and forth pairing each device as needed.

    Numerouno Pendant Lamp

This Numerouno Pendant Lamp made an appearance on some design sites a few weeks back, but, before we go any further, I should warn you that it’s not available for shipping to the US or Canada. However, it is available to buy within the EU, so you’re lucky if you reside in one of those countries or the surrounding area.

Now, onto the lamp: the simple materials (corrugated cardboard, wire plastic, nylon thread) make for a lightweight light source that has a low environmental impact. The length and overall minimal silhouette makes it a great choice for above a kitchen island, dining table, or desk, and all you’ll need to provide is the 21W tube, which will emit more light than two 75W light bulbs.

No need to turn your head to see the time with this little Lumo Projection Alarm Clock. It features a rotating arm which projects the time on the wall or on the ceiling.
