Onme Belt

For those days when you need your cell phone, keys and wallet but don’t feel like carrying a purse, the onme bag is a perfect companion. I have one of these and I can’t tell you how many people stop me to ask where I got it or just to say “cool belt”.

These were being carried in Fred Segal for a while but the designer has them made by hand and couldn’t keep up with orders, so I’m thrilled to see them available again.

It’s made in downtown LA of sweatshop free labor from a super soft leather.

Citizen: Citizen/JimmyJane/Filus evening of Design Therapy

Last night I attended a great event in Los Angeles at All Purpose (a great up and coming menswear store) sponsored by Citizen:Citizen and the endlessly charming Philip Wood. Also in attendance was super talented designer Cory Ingram of the Crude Line, and the design/engineering genius Ethan Imboden behind the little steel line by JimmyJane.

It was refreshing to see all the lines in person and get to meet the minds behind the designs.

Parentesi Extension Table

This is a great extension dining table that has a mechanized self-storing leaf.

“The Parentesi Table (2002) by Luigi Ronzoni gracefully extends to seat up to 6-8 people without interrupting the design’s simple lines or resolved details. Both ends of the tabletop pull out on smooth-gliding metal tracks to make room for a self-storing butterfly extension leaf, which easily unfolds and locks into place. Like the remainder of the tabletop, the extension leaf features an apron on either side to hide interior tracks and maintain the table’s profile. Each table is produced using CAD software and CNC routers, for precision craftsmanship and performance. Made in Italy.”
