Big White Pot and Red/White Vase by Hella Jongerius

These vessels are cast from restored moulds of medieval pots and are painted with automotive paint. Such an interesting melding of two different times.

“The rough casting seams, along with the potter’s traditional thumbprint, give the impression of antique vessels while the strong, solid forms are a clear indications of modern industry.”

Convex Mirror bySebastian Wrong, 2004

I was just in Seattle this weekend and was reminded of how cool this mirror was when I saw it in one of the shops down town. (The store is called Ornamo, but they don’t have an online store–but do stop by if you’re in the area.)

The mirror is large in scale (35h x 12w x 10″d) and generally just really cool. It’s on sale now at Moma.

“Bring this nearly three-foot high version of the familiar rearview car mirror indoors. Wall mount and adjust by rotating 360 degrees, lowering or angling towards the wall to display your desired reflection. Made of a black injection-molded ABS frame with glass and anodized aluminum.”

Cool Feet

These sound like a very smart buy for all of you laptop owners. And quite affordable, might I add…

“Cool feet are 4 small ‘feet’ with suction cups at the end. Or actually, they are suction cups in the size of small ‘feet’ that attach to the bottom of your laptop, allowing the heat to be dispersed properly. Why is that smart you might ask? Well for starters angled keyboards are more ergonomic than a flat one and a raised laptop protects your furniture from any heat damage… But the kicker is that when laptops release their excess heat, they become faster! And isn’t speed something we all want in our machines?”

Sapporo Shelving, One High

It’s so nice to know there is modular furniture out there that can grow and change according to your needs. This system can be changed depending on how high or tall or wide you’d like it, simply by adding or taking away an individual unit. The photo shown here is one unit with a steel base (the doors are sold separately), but you could afford to buy this now as a tv stand (for example) and then add on later to make a bookcase. The back is completely finished as well, so you could also use it as a room divider if you went with buying a taller unit.

“The Sapporo Shelving System by Jesús Gasca combines the elegant minimalism of Japanese design with Spain’s technically refined modernism to produce a system of case goods that meets a multiplicity of needs in a gracious and flexible format…”
