Check out this beauty. Designed by Ana Mestre, a Portuguese furniture designer, the Lagarta stool is made from agglomerated expanded cork, the most sustainable kind of cork composites. There’s a hollow in each stool, allowing them to nest together for infinite modular seating. At a price of $345, it’s just under the cost of the Cork Stool by Jasper Morrison for Moooi.

If you’re needing a sofa and an end table, consider this combined version that’s inspired from the mid century era. While perhaps this isn’t the most lounge friendly (as in slouchy-curl-up-and-read-a-book, just take a look at the seat back angle), it does have a tailored silhouette that would look entirely proper in a modern day living room. Does this stool remind you a little of planes or bridges? The fascination of such things is the inspiration for this very strong and lightweight stool. $299 for a rocking chair? Pretty good price, I’d say. Felted wool cushion (in clover or storm) keeps you comfortable while the frame is made from solid elm. It’s an extremely simple silhouette and has a Scandinavian vibe without looking too IKEA-ish. Anyone know how comfortable it is?

Man, this folding chair is something else. When you think about regular folding chairs and their clunky look and quality, this one is a winner. Sleek and simple, it folds completely flat, allowing for stacking horizontally or hanging on a wall hook. How in the world has this bench and stool not been featured on our site before? Color me surprised. The price point seems rather reasonable, not to mention the smaller Stump Stool is an absolute steal at $85. Both pieces are raw and unfinished and are cut from the green wood of a tree trunk, so you’ll see the surface split as it ages and dries. Made from FSC Certified domestic Maple or Ash, sanded to a smooth finish.

We previously featured his fabulous Facet Lamps and Cord Lamp, and we’re excited to see he’s continuing an industrial theme with this pair of shelving brackets. Where do you go for minimal furniture that doesn’t cost an entire arm and a leg? MUJI, of course. And what do you know, MoMA Store has this MUJI Table for $420, which is a pretty good price for a dining/work table. Made of ash wood veneer and MDF; easy to assemble.

Designed by Jonas Wahlstrom, this sustainable shesham plank table has just the right balance of wood and iron to give the industrial vibe without getting too heavy metal, if you know what I mean. The architectural iron ‘W’ base changes shape depending on your sight line; it adds an interesting visual touch. A water-based clear lacquer sealant protects the wood, though coasters are recommended to protect the finish from temperature extremes and spills. Best of all, the price is under the $1G mark.

Whoa, the Salt Chair is now down at $83.30 due to DWR’s dining sale. I believe that makes it the least expensive chair that DWR has ever carried (correct me if I’m wrong). The Salt Chair is a classic choice for a dining area, especially as it has a very compact footprint, which means less wasted space.

Hmm, what do we have here? Reclaimed peroba wood gives a nice rustic modern vibe, but it’s really the built in bench/bookshelf that caught my eye. Dovetail joints and just enough storage space for books gives it extra points over other platforms. Perhaps it’s not the best choice for very small bedrooms (or very small budgets), but it sure would do well when a strong presence is needed.
