“These slighty suggestive drawings have been taken from Dana’s personal sketchbook (wouldn’t you like to see the rest of that!), printed on translucent white plastic, and set in a closed-back oval bezel.”

The Origami tables are made from identical flat pressed steel legs that slot together to assemble the tripod base. On each leg there are two slots, each positioned on a different 3 point plane in space. This makes the joints tighten when a load is placed on the table and will never fall apart. NO screws are required; no bolts, pegs or fixings of any sort.

I simply cannot believe that I haven’t posted this yet. The ring (in size 7.5 only) has the text from The Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri, Canto I of Paradiso, translated by Charles S. Singleton.

It’s no secret we like hexagons here at bltd, so it comes naturally that a ‘geodetic’ dome by Patricia Urquiola would, of course, be posted.

“From the designer of the ‘T-table”, “Usame” and “Buckle” watch, comes “Orloff”. Patricia Urquiola imagined a sort of inverse geodetic dome, transformed into bowls of two sizes. The project put deep-molding technicians to the test, as the containers are made from a single disc of drawn plate 18/10 stainless steel, without welding.”

The floor lamp version is especially interesting…
