The Fratelli Tominaga, designers of our Coco Chair, discovered the 40-year-old prototype for the Svedese Chair (pronounced svee-day-see) in the kitchen of a home in Udine, Italy. Still in fine condition, the chair appeared to be Swedish in origin but was constructed in Italy, although the brothers were never able to find a record of the designer. The Tominagas have brought the Svedese Chair back into production, maintaining the solid hardwood frame, the seat back’s distilled folk form and updating the upholstery in elegant, hardworking Danish wool. The result is a mid-century design reimagined for the 21st-century. Assembly required.
