Although we’ve posted designs by Semigood before I thought they could use a revisiting. The Semigood Designs are built to order in heirloom quality, so you can pretty much expect to have this for the rest of your adult life. This piece would be great in an entry hall.

I’m obsessed with the Le Bambole sofa for B&B Italia. Before you get your hopes up, this particular piece is sold out. However, if you’re patient, you may find one at an online auction site or at a resale shop. Also, the chair was rereleased by B&B Italia in 2007.

I’m loving the straight lines and simplicity of this metal coffee table. Made to order.

I’d like to say this console would be easy to build, but I think that’s being more than a little optimistic. The leaning design cuts down on visual clutter, seeing as there are two legs instead of the usual four, which would help a small space appear to be just a little larger. I think it’s often easy to forget that something as simple as the Aalto stool is well within a meager modernist’s budget*. So, for this week’s design classic, consider the stacking stool by Alvar Aalto as an option for extra seating. Designed in 1932-33, the stool is made from solid birch veneer and features a bent L-shaped leg that allows it to be stacked to save space.
