Rocky Credenza/Bookshelf

What the what?! This strange 3D play on perception is called a door-less credenza, or bookcase, if you prefer. Walk around it and you’ll see its surfaces shift and change according to the light and your point of view. See it with books (image below) to help your brain make sense of it. Designed by Charles Kalpakian, of Paris-based design house La Chance.

Hee Chair & Barstool

It’s been nine years since the Hee Seating Collection first hit the market, but it looks just as good now as it did back in 2004. Designer Hee Welling was originally inspired by the interior of a refrigerator, but you won’t find that on Hay’s site anymore, as the many other attributes of the seating collection have the spotlight. The chairs are made from galvanized solid steel, with outdoor powder coating that withstands weather throughout the year. They’re stackable, with a floor linking connection, and even cushions, if needed (contact HAY for availability). All that with the simple, perfect design and you’ve got yourself an excellent option for seating wherever you might need it.

There are quite a few minimal dining tables out there in the marketplace, some of them quite affordable, but not very many of them can claim remarkable craftsmanship in the way the top meets the base. If you look closely, you’ll see that the Noi Dining Table’s surface rests within its steel frame, giving an ultra-slim look and a very durable edge. And, not to worry if you want a specific size or color; Ohio Design offers a good selection of options.
