Collapsible Strainer (green)

I’m into collapsible things. Collapsible stuff saves storage space which helps makes cabinets and closets tidy, and who do you know that wouldn’t want that? This strainer is large enough to strain the stuff you want like pasta and potatoes, but collapses on down to save that precious space in a drawer or cabinet. Dishwasher safe.

Grand Prix Sofa

This sofa is intended for children, but I think it would do quite well as a chair. Two or three would work well together for some low seating and wouldn’t break the bank.

Erich Ginder Mansion Chandelier

The kids at Design Public worked with Erich Ginder to make this amazing chandelier. If you happen to live in a modern Elks Lodge (or strive to) this piece is a must.

“It has the fancy detail-work you expect in a showpiece chandelier, but its laser-cut aluminum construction and halogen-bulb lamps, as well as its flattened, almost stenciled look, make it a truly 21st-century kind of splendid.”

Flight Recliner (Leather)

So, this is an excellent option for a nice recliner too. It might require a little bit more of a price adjustment in your furniture budget, but it sure does look good for being what it is.

“With its small footprint and elevated seat, it’s a chair that provides economy of form with body-appropriate proportions on a scale that suits users of all sizes. .”

There’s also an option to order this in wool, and that makes the price a little more friendly for you.

Studio Line Table Lamp

Quite stunning, isn’t it? And, you can position the glass vertically or horizontally, which is a very nice option.

“The lamp base is solid precision machined aircraft aluminum. The sides are polished, with brushed top finish. Halogen bulb is integrated into the base with a thermal protective glass lens (colored lens sets coming soon!). Lamps are UL listed and made in Canada.”

Frosted glass with polished edges and a coated surface.

Twig by the Bouroullec Brothers

It’s a little hard to tell what’s exactly happening in the picture so here’s a description from the website:

“In the case of Twig, the Bouroullec brothers have again emphasized user creativity and left much scope for personal configuration. The small component means room dividers or curtains can be created in different color compositions and patterns. To this end, the elements are lined up on wires and work like a double hook. 175 pieces create approximately one square yard. Each box contains 50 pieces.”

Twig is something that is well suited for larger budgets as it requires 3.5 boxes to get just one square yard.

Scrapile Cube

Surely you’ve heard of Scrapile furniture before? If so, you earn points. If not, well, you better read up, ’cause they’ve got a really great line of furniture made from wood scraps.
They earn a bajillion points for recycling tons of wood that would go into landfills and creating really great pieces that I certainly would be proud to use and display in my home. These cubes are within a somewhat modest budget, and they offer such versitility with stacking options or as a side table, etc. Each piece is made using non-toxic water-soluble glue and hand finished with Danish Oil which creates a water-resistant finish. Since they’re handcrafted, each one will be unique.

Magino Acrylic Stool/Magazine Rack

Worth noting is this little acrylic stool/magazine rack by none other than Karim Rashid. It can hold up to 200 pounds! That’s something. It’ll hold your magazines or other riffraff while still kind of blending into it’s environment. Better still, it’s under $300.00.

Ghost Chair

This is a spectacular piece. I saw one at Issey Miyake in Tokyo and it had a sign in it that said “no sitting”, so I can’t report on the comfort level. For me I believe the main comfort issue would be the knowledge that I’m sitting in a glass chair. Obviously it’s more of an “impact piece” than something you’ll want to lounge around in, but it really is breathtaking in person.

Panto Beam by Verner Panton

I’m actually pretty excited to see a lamp I like that’s under $100.00- it doesn’t happen that often. Maybe you’ll be excited too? I sure hope so. The Panto Beam has a lacquered steel body and rests on coasters so you can move it around super easy.

Vitsoe Shelving

My aunt and uncle have lived in the same Chicago apartment since the 60’s. Also in that apartment since the 60’s was an amazing walnut tension rod shelving system. I was thrilled when they offered it to me and it now proudly stands in my office. Even though it holds about a ton of books, it still has an amazing visual lightness to it. I can’t tell you how much I love mine. If you want to experience the same joy from something that just performs a simple function, you can buy some from Moss. The great thing about it is that it can be reconfigured if you move or if your needs change.

You can email or call them and tell them what you need and they will come up with a configuration for you. They’ll send you a drawing and a price and your new shelving will arrive fresh from the UK just like you like it.
