Multi Chair

Again, designer Joe Colombo never disappoints. He designed this insane chair in 1971.

“I think that the common use of the word ‘furniture’, referring to a new house or apartment, is now days inappropriate. To be clear it would be better if we talked about ‘interior architecture’; considering the home as a space to organize and equip, in all its volumes, with elements suitable for our needs and the époque in which we are living.” -Joe Colombo 1965

The Multichair is a transformable system composed of two cushions filled with polyurethane foam and covered in elasticised woollen fabric. The cushions may be used individually or by combining them in different positions, to make chairs, armchairs or easy chairs. The Multichair is further enhanced by the many seams, hand sewn by skilled craftsmen.
