I think this is an excellent example of a piece of furniture that does it’s job without a lot of fuss.

“Functional, mobile and inconspicuous, the Alu Media Stand (2005) has been designed exclusively for DWR in response to numerous customer requests. Designed by Luciano Bertoncini, they’re constructed of smooth-edged cast aluminum with an enduring powder-coat finish, while rounded corners make the design safe for homes with children and pets. The top shelf is scaled to hold televisions up to 250 lbs. The large lower glass shelf has a 50 lb capacity and can hold additional media equipment. Locking plastic casters (sold separately) allow the Stand to be easily maneuvered for the perfect viewing angle or to gain access to the rear of the TV and components. Assembly required. Made in Italy.”
