I have absolutely no idea why this particular retailer has a price of $870.00 on this table when other places have it at $1,495.00. Is it a mistake? Am I missing something like a defect listed or a floor model sale?

So, apparently harvesting Sugi trees in Japan is good for the environment (because they are becoming too plentiful) but not many designers will work with the wood because it’s overly soft and gnarly. So, Mr. Enzo Mari stepped up to the plate and designed the very nice (and expensive) Giulie collection to help with the problem. Hida Sangyo was founded in 1920 and is one of the leading wooden furniture makers of Japan, based in the Takayama region. This part of Japan is known for its excellent wood craftsmanship, originating back to the 7th Century Nara period. This collection is made predominately of the beautiful Japanese sugi wood, realized with state-of-the-art industrial technology of wood compression.

Modern media consoles usually seem to be super shiny and pretty expensive. Not that there’s anything wrong with super shiny, but I do like how this ‘rough hewn’ piece gives a casual warmth and contrast to any gadgets displayed on top…and it’s under the $1G mark (even if just barely).
Low flung walnut media console with rough hewn doors that add a contrasting texture to the satin finished frame. Sitting on scaled down beam legs, the Pawnee also features Corian inserts around the finger pulls.
