With only 150 in each color (red or blue wool), and only 42 of those available in the US market, you better put your name down quick if you want one for your own home. Originally this chair was designed for the drawing rooms of the Elysee Palace in 1971.

Alice in Wonderland is an interesting mashup of materials and styles. Traditional elements are implemented in oak while much more angular and modern lines in white MDF. Oh wait, what is you say? Based on the description its a combination of a cabinet and writing desk. I’ll take the designer’s word for it. Regardless of what you want to call it, it certainly will add quite a visual punch to any room.

Obviously the name denotes the design, but what strikes me most about this stool is not only the shape of one on its own, but the shape when stacked several high. It almost looks like an extremely robust coat hanger or totem-like sculpture.

Not a bad price for a coffee table, seeing as it’s comfortably under the $500 mark. The angled legs makes for an interesting detail, yet it’s robust and sturdy looking, as it should be since the legs are cut from solid American walnut (or oak). A veneered hardwood top finishes it off with a nice ‘organic geometry’.
