Woven cane usually is an attribute of more traditional furniture, but there’s a few movers and shakers that are mixing things up and applying it to modern designs. This Supra Bed designed by Mermelada Estudio incorporates perforated woven cane into the curved headboard, giving texture and warmth to an architectural oak grid.

The Y.bowl from Doca Pet (literally) elevates the common steel bowl to a considered receptacle for your pets, and with different sizes and heights, you’re able to pick the perfect size. Remember the promise to feature a few more dining tables? Here’s one that doesn’t hide its extension feature. Do you know how annoying it is when books topple over for lack of bookends? Good, because that saves me from explaining why integrated dividers in a shelving system are a sanity saver. This is so smart I can hardly stand it. The Floyd Leg combines a table leg with a clamp- add four legs to any flat surface and you’ve got a table. Simple concept, yes, but a fine execution. I know not everyone has $3,400 to spend on a dresser, but this one is from Chadhaus, and, considering their quality craftsmanship (their furniture is handcrafted in Seattle with sustainably-harvested woods), it’s no surprise to see a higher price tag. The clean, classic lines of this storage piece will never go out of style; long after you appreciate the under-mounted mechanical slides and solid wood drawers, you’ll be able to pass it along to the next generation.

This stool is a familiar riff on the Milking Stool by UM Projects we posted a few years ago, yet with this variation, the legs are a bit farther apart for stability. So, sit on it, put your feet up, or use it for drinks and books, and know that it won’t topple over easily. The legs are dipped in ultra-matte lacquer for a bright contrast.
