Dhurrie rugs (more of a flat, tight weave) are really quite durable and not nearly as expensive as most wool pile rugs. These have a nice pattern and would be an easy and affordable way to change the look of a living room or hallway.

Hmm, what’s that? Storage on a shoestring budget? Well, you could go the cement block route, as there’s invariably that time in one’s life, or you could spring for this particular shelving system. Blu Dot is one of those companies who can’t seem to misstep; every product they introduce becomes an instant favorite of mine. The new Couchoid upholstery group is no exception. A recessed chrome base makes the solid sofa appear to float, and the dense seat, back, and arms have just enough detail to avoid looking like a big block of foam. The only problem is that I don’t think any pillows would look good on this, so let’s hope it’s as comfortable as it is striking.

This is an odd little light, and I mean that in the nicest possible way. I like how it clips on to the edge and extends so far over the table surface without taking up any work space.
