This will probably be the first and last time I ever order something from an “RV Specialty Store,” but I’ve been toying with the idea of buying a folding bike that I can ride a mile or two to work and then just fold up and stick under my desk. This bike is obviously on the low end of what you can buy, so I don’t expect to be able to use it in Le Tour de France any time soon, but it will get me from point A to point B and collapses in seconds.

A bit trite, perhaps, but it’s posted as more of an obligation to anyone who might celebrate the impending holiday or appreciate the irony.

Whether or not you’re a airplane kit afficionado, the clean lines of the design are sure to appeal to the eye of a modernist. Worth noting: they were originally designed in 1889 and 1911.
The kits use balsa wood, ultra-light Styrofoam, rubber bands and 125mm reverse pitch propellers. Illustrated instructions and glue are included. The kit is packed in a box with appealing graphics in Japanese and some English.

This handmade glass ring has just enough glitz to be quite possibly the perfect gift.
“While it might have the shape of a carefully shaped and polished stone piece, there is no doubting it’s made of glass once you see light shining through one – the colors practically come alive. And while six different color styles are available, due to their handmade nature, each rokki ring is unique ( just as each one of orfeo’s other pieces ). as such, the exact size, tone, mixture, and opacity of the ring will vary from piece to piece.”

Isn’t it a really bad idea to golf while it’s raining, what with the veritable lightning rod that is created with the swinging club? Anyway, you don’t have to use this while golfing–it’s a nice little umbrella.

Pardon the pun, but this watch is timeless. Designed by Piero Lissoni for Alessi, I could see this on the wrist of any man for years to come. Clean, simple design, the square face is elegantly rounded, with a full-sweeping second hand.

Now that there is a bigger effort to create and market bags and totes without all the unnecessary accoutremont it’s fairly easy to find something unoffending, but rarely do I find something that I think is actually designed. I mean that in the sense that the designer is redesigning from square one, reconsidering all the standards of the past in favor of ergonomics, proportions and new materials. I think this is a fine specimin. A bonus (?) is that I don’t think there are any retailers in the states so if you decide to order one it will be the only one on your block.

I bought one of these when I was at ICFF from the design boom young designers display. It’s is a very thick 100% wool felt (4mm) which has been laser cut in the shape of a fox.
