Cromatica Bluetooth Speaker

This bluetooth speaker has a trick up its sleeve; it’s also a light. The Cromatica features color illumination to coordinate with your favorite music and sounds. Program your particular mix of light and sound for just the right ambience, or just use it as a small lamp at quiet times beside the bed or sofa. That notch at the top of the Cromatica functions as a handle, making it easy for you to carry it from room to room.

Tilt Bamboo Earphone Stand

Initially, the thought of a headphone/earphone stand seems entirely unnecessary. However, to be fair, where do you put your headphones/earphones when you’re not wearing them? Not back in their case, because that’s too much trouble, so maybe (usually) you just leave them out on top of your desk, table or dresser, where they get covered with other stuff (sometimes). So, maybe a headphone/earphone stand isn’t such a ridiculous idea, hmm?

Monkey Radio & Speaker

Fun! This Monkey Radio & Speaker features a flexible antenna that can wrap around a bike handle, bag strap, or shower rod (yes, it’s waterproof). No need to be without an FM radio and Bluetooth speaker when it’s so handy to carry around, right? The rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts for five hours and takes around three hours to fully charge. (And a great gift idea, too.)

UE Roll 2 Portable Bluetooth Speaker

There’s soooo many bluetooth speakers out there, how do you choose just one? Well, the UE Roll 2 gets great reviews, so sit up and pay attention. It’s got a bungee cord attachment, so you can strap it to anything. It’s waterproof, so hang it in the shower or take it to the beach. And, it’s light; in fact, it’s lighter than a can of soda. The range is pretty good too, as you’ve got about 100 ft. before you start losing the signal. Rest easy knowing you’ll have around 9 hours of rechargeable battery life while you’re out on your adventures. Pretty good, eh?

Pivot Koostik Passive Amplifier

I know, I know, a block of wood with some strange carvings won’t make much sense until you pair the title with the picture. It’s the Pivot Koostik Passive Amplifier, and it does just what it says- it passively amplifies sound on your iPhone. Two channels allow you to set your phone in either landscape or portrait mode, and you can customize the face. Might be a fun gift to give, right?

Bike Speaker, Blue

Bike speakers are certainly a popular thing nowadays, aren’t they? This one is similar to the Soundflex Bluetooth Speaker, but at a lower price point. Not a bicyclist? You could also hang this around a shower head for your morning playlist. Its battery charges via USB and it has a wireless range up to 10 meters.

Soundflex Bluetooth Speaker

Do you need an inexpensive bluetooth speaker? This one has a flexible arm that lets you hang or clip it practically anywhere, which is oh-so-convenient if you’re always on the go. Hang it on your bike or bag and take off on your everyday adventures. The lower price tag means you don’t need to freak out if it gets some sand on it or a scratch or two (remember, it’s a speaker, not a precious little kitten). It’s water-resistant and USB rechargeable (cable included), and has a built-in microphone for hands-free calling.

What is it?

What do you think of this*? It’s made of cement, and it’s about the size of a small shoe. Any guesses as to what it is?

The Vamp

See that tiny, red, cube-like device on top of that speaker? It’s here to save the lives of all the old speakers that don’t have Bluetooth. That’s right, you can keep your vintage Mcintosh or JBL speaker(s) with its/their amazing sound and have the convenience of streaming music from your latest smartphone or device.

So, how does it work? The Vamp fits onto your existing speaker via a magnetic metal disc or the provided audio cables. Connect it, and voila! Bluetooth compatibility. Keeping those traditional speakers around reduces electronic waste, so it’s a win/win situation. And, if you possess no traditional speakers, The Vamp team will give you one, free of charge* (from the recycling center). Cool, huh?

Vifa Copenhagen Wireless Speaker

Are you still looking for a wireless speaker? Save your pennies, because this one earns top marks for its pared down design and integrated handle. It’s like someone took an old boombox, shrunk it down, and waved a magic wand to reduce it down to only a Kvadrat fabric facing and aluminum frame. Very minimal/modern, isn’t it?

Ovo iPhone amplifier

Add this to your list of things you absolutely don’t need but want sort of badly. I mean, come on, it’s a passive amplifier made from Carrera marble for your iPhone. The shape is carved very slowly from a single block of marble (does the price make more sense now?) and works solely from mechanic sound diffusion. No cords, no batteries, just plain ol’ geometry working to optimize your listening experience.

Tube Audio

What can I say? It’s a speaker that connects to your device via Bluetooth, USB or auxiliary input cable. That and the fact that it’s 2 inches in diameter might make it perfect for providing high-quality audio while blending in easily amongst your other nice things. A rechargeable battery will keep music going for up to 8 hours. Oh, and if you could use a clock, pair it with its older sibling, the Tube Clock. Both are collaborations between Amsterdam-based Leff and designer Piet Hein Eek.

Beoplay A2 Bluetooth Speaker

Take a look at the size of the BeoPlay A2 Speaker. Compared to other bluetooth speakers, that’s a reassuring thing because, as some experts will cry from the rooftops, it’s just not easy to pack a great sound into a very small box. The look of it doesn’t hurt either, as green, black, and grey are right up our sartorial alleyways. The leather strap makes it easy to carry or hang anywhere, and a 24 hour battery life will ensure a non-stop playlist for a very long listening session.

Ortho Remote

This blue hockey-puck-looking-thing is a wireless remote for your sound system. How does it work, you ask? Click it once to start playing music, twist it to turn the volume up or down, tap to pause… you get the idea. It was originally designed for Teenage Engineering’s OD-11 Cloud Speaker, yet it follows universal Bluetooth standard for HID so you can use it with any music player on mac OS X, iOS, or Android. A magnetic back gives you the option to stick it on any metal surface, or make use of the non-slip bottom to keep it in place on your table, desk, or countertop.

Endless Rain Record

Kris originally posted this record forever ago, but now that it’s shown up for sale at a new retailer, it’s worth another mention. Created by Japanese artist Kouichi Okamoto (a.k.a. Bekkou), the vinyl phonograph record has two sides: one side has raindrop sounds that loop endlessly, the other has a 10 minute track of the “soothing sounds of a summer rainfall.”
