No matter how organized your paper-free life might be, there are still documents and papers that you need to keep on hand (just in case zombies destroy the power grid). The Midori collection over at baum-kuchen has me adding a few desk accessories to my shopping list, namely, these brass clip numbers. Each clip is made of solid brass and could be used as a bookmark/place holder or simply to keep small paper items together. I think they’d be handy in a planner to mark out months for easy reference.

As someone who prefers to keep my weekly schedule in order via paper and pen, I shall never relinquish the smaller sticky note, as they provide a jolt of color to remind me of important dates and tasks. Now, I have another option to add to my visual arsenal: teensy tiny sticky notes. With small handwriting, you could probably jot down an important word or phrase, but considering their color, shape, and size it looks like they’d be perfectly appropriate for highlighting a particular date or line of text all on their own.

There’s a vague sense of responsibility I feel every time I come across decent Thank You cards, almost like I’m a schoolmarm rapping knuckles of anyone not writing their letters correctly. After all, handwriting has slowly become old-fashioned, as we all have turned towards typing out emails instead of picking up a pen. Perhaps that’s precisely why Thank You cards are very special to give and receive nowadays; each is a rare physical act of appreciation with the heartfelt scrawlings of someone that took the time to actually put pen to paper to express their thanks.

You never know when you might need a small card to say the word(s) you’d rather not say in person, or (even worse) in an email. Cards are an endearing traditional aspect of communication, and make an occasion out of a few simple words. Any of these three cards will no doubt leave the recipient in a much better mood than before they picked up the envelope.

You and I could both think of hundreds (of thousands) of things more exciting than paper shredders. Either they’re behemoths of ugly office design or they’re too small to get through a decent stack of documents, meaning you waste time standing there feeding in sheet by sheet, shaking your fist at your laziness to get rid of sensitive documents in a timely manner. Now, this Bridge Paper Shredder won’t handle stacks at a time, but it does fit on top of any small trash can, meaning you can tuck it away in a drawer when not in use.
