Lumo Projection Alarm Clock

No need to turn your head to see the time with this little Lumo Projection Alarm Clock. It features a rotating arm which projects the time on the wall or on the ceiling. A digital diplay on the front shows the time and the alarm time (when it’s set), so you can quickly do the math on how many hours of sleep you have ahead of you.

Titan LED Clock Radio

A clock radio? What, is it 1985? That’s what you’re thinking, but, trust me, this one has all the bells and whistles that you’d want, without the pesky overview of emails and appointments your phone flashes at you every single time you pick it up. Also, did you know that looking at a bright screen at night to check the time can disrupt your sleep? Smartphones are full of small catastrophes, aren’t they? So, rethink that 1985 reference and pay attention.

DesignWright’s Titan LED Clock Radio has the LED display within the speaker grill, which softens the numbers to a pleasing glow. Yes, there’s the AM/FM settings, snooze bar, an auto-dimmer, six recordable radio stations, electronic volume, a telescopic antenna, and an MP3 amplifier, but all you really care about it that it looks cool.

Nimbus Dashboard

Not that you need to be more connected, but this 4-dial dashboard will help you track what’s important. It’s customizable, so you get to pick what info it displays- it’ll wake you up, but maybe you also want to know the weather, how many emails you have, what the morning traffic is like, or just what day it is… the Nimbus will show you it all via each dial/barometer. It syncs in real time, so the data will be accurate. Maybe that means you’ll pick up your phone less? We can hope. Think of it as a desk top accompaniment or a bedside starting point.

Picto Wall Clock

Pieces of Time Wall Clock

No numbers needed, this clock simply tells the time with 12 pie-shaped ash wood inlays. The wood grain differs slightly with each section, giving a subtle nod to the standard clock image without sacrificing its minimal face. The Pieces of Time Wall Clock is produced by Discipline, and, if you’re in the UK/EU region, you may purchase the clocks directly from their website.

Countdown Clock

I’m sure there’s not a lot of these in stock, and considering the sale price of $50 (reg.$145.00) it’ll be sold out sooner than you can say ‘how many days until my next vacation’ two hundred times fast. So, how many days until your next vacation? If you had this clock you would know, as it has a specific countdown and a place to note the event. So, no more forgetting that special anniversary, wondering how much time is left to for holiday shopping, etc. The clock can countdown from 999 days and there are 33 different occasions to select.

Milton Glaser at MoMA Store

Show your love for Mr. Glaser in the form of a timepiece on your wrist or on your wall. The Alarming Clock

Here’s a different sort of alarm clock whose sound depends entirely on what you put in front of it. Huh? The signal sounds like a woodpecker drumming against a tree, but if you put a vase of water, or some other vessel or surface, against the ‘beak’ or nose, then you’ll create a different sound. Unfortunately, it’s available only to residents in the UK or Europe, but you can put your name on the waiting list if you live elsewhere. Watch the video below to hear/see an example.

Felt Wall Accessories

Hmm, these felt wall accessories would look oh-so-soft and organized in an entryway or above a desk, though it could get a little pricey should you choose to spring for several all at once. I smell a DIY project for someone handy with a drill and staple gun (and precut wood tiles, magnets, clock movement, etc.).

What is it?

Yes, you guessed it, it’s a clock. It doesn’t take too much to recognize the relative size of hour and minute hands, but the absence of a face does set this Wyzer Wall Clock apart from the others. The green and grey color combinations also make this wall clock slightly strange- in a nice way, of course- as that part of the color wheel is often overlooked when it comes to interior furnishings.

Snooze

I can’t even count the number of times I’ve dropped my phone while trying to turn off my alarm in the mornings- it’s got to be in the hundreds by now (coordination is impaired when you’re half asleep, after all). That’s where this alarm dock comes in- it’s got a huge, functioning snooze bar that’s easily hit when you want just a few more minutes of shut eye.

Gomitolo Knit Clock

Hmm, here’s something interesting. For once, a product posted years ago (2008) has actually gone down in price, from $575 to $325. And yes, your eyes are correct, the Gomitolo clock has a soft ecru knit cotton cover: a sweater, if you will, for your time keeping device. The cover can be removed and washed as needed.

Felt35 Wall Clock

Made of felt, eh? Sounds nice, but what’s even nicer is that it’s made out of 60% recycled PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) felt. The PET felt helps with sound dampening and adds a soft texture to your time spot. Choose white, grey, or orange hands.

Verbarius Electronic Clock

It’s your birthday! Well, it probably isn’t, but if you were one of the many (all 3 of you) that emailed in after we posted this clock forever ago, wondering where you might be able to purchase it stateside, you can now pretend it is your birthday, because MoMA Store has the Verbarius in stock. Keep your pants on, it only took five years. If you’re not familiar, the Verbarius replaces numbers with words using one of five preloaded languages: English, German, Spanish, French, and Russian. Jensen Koppel Clocks

If you’re in the market for a classic wall clock, and would like something quite small and elegant, do turn your eyes toward the collection of timepieces designed by Henning Koppel for Jensen. Choose between the 10cm (~4″) or 15cm (~6″) size, stainless steel or black stainless steel, and white or black dial. Also, you can save your pennies in hopes of one day adding a barometer, thermometer, and hygrometer alongside the clock for a full collection of weather instruments. Also, do you know (or can you guess) which decade these clocks were designed? Was it the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s or 2000+? Answer below.
