Distil Union’s Wally

Among the many varieties of wallet/iPhone cases is Distil Union’s Wally. It’s an attachable leather pocket that keeps your credit cards close at hand, with a pull-tab that conceals/reveals contents. It won’t hold all your George Costanza-like receipts and such, as there’s just room for around 3 cards, so maybe it will force you to only keep what’s necessary. The Wally attaches directly to the iPhone (and most cases) with an adhesive backing.

Small Zebrawood Speaker

It might be difficult to discern the tiny Zebrawood speaker amongst the pencils and parquet boxes in the image above, but it’s there, and it’s tiny- three inches by three inches, to be exact. And why do you need a tiny, Zebrawood speaker? Who knows, but my best guess is that you’re looking for bluetooth compatible, wireless speaker that has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and if it happens to blend in well with your oh-so-spectacular décor, then that’s a definite bonus.

The Crankerator

Photojojo is, as always, full of great photography gadgets and such, and among their newest crop of items is this Crankerator, a.k.a. the Boost Turbine 2000. It’s a source of extra energy for your smart phone or tablet, and is charged via the crank handle or by plugging it into your computer or a wall socket. A full charge on its 2000 mAH lithium battery will fully charge your phone, allowing you to take those extra photos on a weekend hike or even make important calls during an emergency situation (it doesn’t hurt to be prepared, does it?). Also, check out Photojojo’s newsletter if you haven’t already- they send out photo project inspiration and DIY tips.

Simple as can be, the Musguard is lightweight (35 grams) and easily attached: unroll, fold the seam, and tighten the Velcro strap. Remove it whenever you want by undoing the strap and rolling up for storage (see what I mean by easy?). Now on Kickstarter; see video below for demonstration.

Timbre Amplifier

Chances are you’d prefer no additional cords or wires on your desk, and hey, wouldn’t it be nice to have a small, passive amplifier for your iPhone? I know you were just thinking that exact same thought, and that’s why you’d do well to pay attention to this little guy. The Timbre is a wooden amplifier that boosts the sound of your phone by up to 20 decibels. No cords, no battery, and it’s small enough to throw in your bag if you’re on the go. The Reverse-Denim Weekender

I don’t need any more weekend bags, but man, am I tempted by this one from Everlane. Made of sturdy canvas, the sides of the 6 Pack Bag are secured with Velcro, ensuring your cargo gets to your destination safe and sound. Wooden Bike Hook

Is this a minimal bike hook? Yes, indeed, and I’m holding my hand up for a long distance high five here (air-five, as some might say). These bike hooks by Sandra Thomsen are just about as simple as you can get. Do note that they’re intended for lighter sports bikes. You’ll want to triple check that the wall is suitable and that you install the anchors correctly, otherwise you might just have a scuffed up bike and two holes in the wall, and that’s no fun at all.

Blokket

Yes, it did take a while for MoMA to feature New York City in its Destination series, but at least they have now, and we’ve got a nice selection of home-grown design to consider. You’ll see a few things featured here on BLTD, of course, the first of which is the Blokket by The Way We See The World. Blokket is a pouch made of a silver and nylon material that blocks cellular signals. So, if you want to fully dedicate your attention to your dining partner, you can take your phone out of the equation by placing it inside the pouch. You could also just completely turn it off, which is the obvious solution. However, the Blokket also protects against identity theft by
unauthorized RFID readers, which means your slip chipped ID cards and/or passport is safe from prying radio frequencies when inside, especially useful if you might be involved in espionage. Take a look at the whole Destination:NYC series over at the MoMA Store.
