Keytags by Various Projects

Know a blogger, a bon vivant, or a bad ass? What about a fashion editor, a freeloader, or a philanderer? Maybe one of those people needs a keychain with their stand-out attribute written for all to see, or maybe you need a bunch to label your keys and/or yourself. Give some as gifts, give one to yourself, go crazy. See the whole collection at Various Projects.

Temporary Tattoos

Temporary tattoos are the perfect thing for anyone adverse to a lifetime commitment. Running across this one (shown above) reminded me how much I like tattoos of text. I’ll never get an actual tattoo, as I would not be able to settle upon just one phrase (plus I’m scaredy cat when it comes to needles), but temporary tattoos? Sure, let’s get some and plaster them all over our bodies. Could be fun to give as a gift, don’t you think?

OYOBox Eyewear Organizer

I know, I know, organizing your eyewear is not at the top of your list. However, if you have more than three pairs of good glasses/sunglasses, chances are that you often fumble around with cases and worry about scratches. So, maybe you need an OYOBox; it’s a box just for your eyewear. A glass lid keeps dust out while a leatherette interior has one centered ridge to keep glasses upright and aligned. I’ve seen a sample in person and I’m impressed. And, yes, you guessed it, the boxes aren’t cheap, but your glasses aren’t either, so why not keep them safe in a nice, lacquered box? Maybe put the small one on your holiday wish list?

Bandit Titanium Keychain Knife

See this tiny, very adorable pocket knife? It kicks ass, because it’s the size of a standard house key when folded. That means you won’t look like a lumberjack carrying it around (not that there’s anything wrong with looking like a lumberjack); it’s small enough to unobtrusively fit in your jean’s coin pocket or attach to your keychain (or even a zipper!). So handy.

To Go Click Travel Mug

Need a new travel mug? Stelton has improved the vacuum mug by making it possible to drink from all sides. Click the spill-proof lid open or closed, it’s that simple. You’ll not look ridiculous trying to drink from the wrong side, and your beverages will stay hot or cold according to your preference. Choose from copper, steel, black or chalk.

Minor History Traveler Backpack

Can there ever be too many minimal totes? I think not, because we are all a little picky in our quest for an everyday bag. This backpack by Minor History has a fold-over top with a magnetic closure, adjustable brass buckle straps, and a large zippered compartment (in the fold-over). That leaves plenty of room for a laptop and other necessities, either for your daily commute or a longer journey.

Lucina Wearable Light

If you’re going to spend any time outside at night walking, running or biking, make sure you are visible to vehicles around you. Clip on the Lucina Wearable Light and you’ll do just that, with either a steady or flashing beam to alert others of your presence. The Lucina uses magnets, so it’s easy to fasten it to your shirt/coat, bag, or leggings. Just push a button to turn it on or off.

Building Block Leather Sleeves

I’ve got a nose like a bloodhound when it comes to minimal, expensive things, so it really shouldn’t surprise you that this leather 13″ MacBook sleeve is lodged firmly in the mid-$300 price range*. A smooth black exterior with a nude leather interior hits the right note of functional luxury without any extraneous details to get in the way of your daily work routine (or your excellent appearance). There’s the 11″ size as well as the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini Sleeve, so there’s something to suit each of your devices.

Herman Big Bag

Okay, raise your hand if you use or have used Ikea’s large, blue shopping bag around your home or for other errands. Don’t worry, you won’t be ostracized, as I’m guilty of the same. It just goes to show that really large totes can be extremely useful. Ferm Living’s Herman Big Bag slides in as an alternative option, as it measures in at 26″ long with a 15″ and 13″ height and width. Heavy cotton canvas with leather handles is durable enough for all manner of toting to and fro and looks quite a bit nicer than plastic… though it does cost quite a bit more as well. It would be well suited for a weekend getaway bag, don’t you think?

Twin Tote

Nice briefcases and fancy handbags are all fine and good, but sometimes you just need an inexpensive tote, preferably with a few pockets. This tote from Poketo is divided into two roomy compartments with a smaller middle pocket for your keys, phone, and wallet. The two larger compartments are especially handy for gym days, as you can keep your work clothes separate from your workout gear, or your water bottle away from your tablet.

Lapel Pin, Art

Just in case you wish to poke fun at art and artists, this enamel pin is for you. At 1.5″ across, it should fit onto your jacket/bag/shirt just fine, and I’d be surprised if you don’t get a few knowing nods whenever you take it out for a spin. Should you wish to hang the same message on your wall, there’s also a Art Print: Art, signed and embossed.

X-Cap Light Up Hat

Headlight plus hat? Sign me up, because who knows what outdoor exploring we’ll be up to when the winter evenings are here? The removable head lamp clips into and out of the beanie so you can charge (via USB) the 120-lumen light. I’d say this is an improvement over single strap headlamps, as the beanie is less likely to slip off the ol’ noggin, don’t you think?
