Numbered Edition Linens

I’ve posted Heather Lins’ work before (Eye Chart Pillow), but I had no idea about the linens available.

Heather Lins’ inspiration comes from examining the ordinary. Her collections are based on vintage typography, eye charts, and conversation bubbles–images that are instantly identifiable but unexpected when found loafing on the sofa or adorning the dining room table. Each design is a balance of artisan production techniques, modern design, and wit.

Table Tap

Looking more like something out of a science lab than what you would use to serve your guests, this ‘Table Tap’ makes the ordinary ol’ water jug seem a bit dull.

Inspired by inventions and scientific research, this object’s basic function has been put into a new context. Table tap also reminds us of a perfume atomiser, though now it functions as a small water pump at the table. Pouring a simple glass of water really is a fascinating experience.

Cedar Sake Vessel

I don’t make a practice of drinking sake, but this vessel by designer Shunji Kurimori might convince me to start.

Kurimori’s Cedar Sake Bottle is made using old cedar trees with a striking narrow grain, resulting in a bentwood low-conduction vessel that keeps cold sake cool, hot sake warm. Kurimori is a Master of Traditional Craft, recognized by the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. Pair the Cedar Sake Bottle with the Cedar Sake Cups (sold separately) to practice a third Japanese tradition: sharing sake and conversation with friends.
