Impress Coffee Brewer Travel Mug

A fresh cup of coffee in just three minutes? Yep, that little wish just came true with the Impress Coffee Brewer Travel Mug by Gamila Company. Add your grounds and hot water and stir. Leave it for a few minutes and then gently plunge the reverse-flow filter into your brew; the grounds are filtered out and kept safe (at the bottom) for your perfect cup, ready to go. No filters, no mess, and the triple-walled design keeps your coffee hot just the way you like it.

Knork

Spork, knoon, fife, knork. Only two of these things exist as far as I know, and I give you two guesses to pick the other one (other than the Spork, of course). It’s the Knork, as you could probably tell from the title and the picture, and it’s a combination knife/fork. I don’t know how well it works, but you can find out with $5. Could be worth every penny for the novelty, and who knows, you might just simplify your utensil selection after trying it out.

Scholten & Baijings’ Colour Crystal Stemware

Welcome all, please take your seats. Did you sign in? Do you have a name tag? Good… the Scholten & Baijings’ fan club is now in session. First order of business is admiring their new modern, crystal stemware with pinstripes and gradient colors. Fantastic, isn’t it? The colors and stripes are hand-applied, hence the cost, and have been noted to cause feelings of extreme distress to those individuals who can’t quite afford the whole collection, so please be aware and conduct yourself appropriately.

Soma Water Filter

You know what’s impressive? A water filter from the future. That’s really the only explanation for such a well executed design, after all. The handcrafted glass carafe is a beauty all on its own, then you add the filter on, and you’ve got an excellent option for purifying water. No need to mess with finicky lids either, as the Soma has a pour-through lid that automatically opens when you add water. The all-natural filters are biodegradable, and you can sign up to have fresh filters delivered every two months for $13, shipping included.

Verte Carafe

You know what makes this a better-than-average carafe? Take a look at the spout: that’s a patented “two lip system” which ensures that any and all drips return to the bottle. That’s right, no drips. Water, wine, juice… you name it, and this carafe will transport it safely from your fridge to a drinking vessel with no mess. The hand-blown glass container fits perfectly into the fridge door for convenience.

I Love You Mug

How do you say ‘I love you’ in a different way? With a knife, a bloody heart, and a horseshoe, preferably in picture form upon an enamel mug, of course. Maurizio Cattelan and Pierpaolo Ferrari (of Toilet Paper magazine fame) are responsible for this drinking vessel, and it seems to strike the perfect balance between creepy-weird and very practical, as it won’t break and, perhaps more importantly, if you take it to work, it’s unlikely anyone will accidentally grab it thinking that it’s just some generic coffee mug for his or her own use. Take a look at the rest of the collection over at MoMA Store.

What is it?

What’s this metal mesh thing? I’ll give you a hint: it’s not intended for use as clothing or body armor- though I suppose in a pinch you could try and use it as such if someone comes at you with a rusty sword- instead think of it more as armor for a surface. Do you know? Answer below.

Carafe Pinson

This carafe by designer Céline Frébault (in collaboration with the Sentou gallery) incorporates a rather odd beaker-like handle, which fills when the carafe is full. As far as carafes go, it’s definitely got a high end (semi-mad-scientist?) look… any guesses as to the price? Is it $50, $100, $200?
