You can probably tell the provenance of this table by the name and the price. I try not to post things from there, but this table is really quite perfect for what it is.

Shimmery-jewelry-like storage cubes. Why not.
“Optic cube features facetted transparent or mirrored surfaces that create a special atmosphere with amazing color effects and reflected images.
A cube container made from PMMA, Optic is available in two versions – closed with a little door or open sided. The surface is decorated with slightly raised square-based pyramids whose mirrored or transparent surfaces create striking optical effects.”

Holy. Talk about some markdowns…If you need a table, these are some prices that are sure to please.
“Following in the Shaker tradition, the AVL pieces are substantial, uncomplicated and practical. Through their combination of solid and veneered oak or beech wood and generous proportions, the designs communicate a sturdy architectural character. The large, broad Rectangle Dining Table seats six to eight people with room to spare…The square table offers frank lines with a small footprint right for tight spaces or as an addition to existing dining solutions. Table seats four.”

Also available in black and red, this table is pretty “no frills”, yet that’s exactly what makes it stand out. Strictly a surface, its high gloss finish reflects light and opens up a space.

I was in a great modern house this week and they had this perfect, sturdy dining table. I was surprised to find out that it was the Big Sur Dining Table from Crate and Barrel.
“The rustic beauty of Big Sur lies in its solid European white oak with naturally occuring splits, cracks and knots. Its intricate, narrow grain is produced by a colder climate, making each piece unique. Supporting the table are four hefty legs, each crafted of a single piece of heartwood, exposing the tree’s inner rings.”
• Solid white oak
• Wood pegging detail on top
• Each leg crafted of heartwood and kiln-dried for six months for stability
• Seats up to six
• Polished wax finish allows wood to gain character as it ages
• See dimensions below

What a great price for a marble side table!
“Open box construction of slick polished chrome tops out in Carrara-style white/grey marble. Smooth and cool with a subtle silvery glint of crystallization. Side table can also function front of the sofa in twos, threes, quad. Or either side of the bed.”
• Iron tube frame with chrome plated finish
• 15 mm Carrara-style white marble top with grey veins
• Wipe clean with a soft dry cloth

The dovetail joints give this coffee table a strong link to traditional furniture making while the overall design is undeniably modern. It remains simple, but the subtle curve of the legs sets it slightly higher on the list of tables to appreciate.
Made from heavy solid oak with refined finger joint cabinetry.
Console and nesting tables also available separately.

A while ago, we had a reader who was on a desperate search for a table that expanded widthwise instead of lengthwise. It is somewhat of a design anomaly, and in all my searches I didn’t find anything close. But today, I found one. It’s too late for that dear reader, he has succumb to an inferior lenthwise expanding table. But for those of you still looking, don’t despair, your table has arrived.
Wenge-stained oak veneer; satin-finished steel base.
