This splayed leg dining table would also be great as a desk.

There are five different options for legs on this table, but the trestle legs seem to be the most distinctive…
“Dine or work in style, times infinity with our Multi Table. An easy, modern solution that’s ultimately versatile, the Multi Tabletop allows you to customize any dining nook, work area or home office over and over. Sleek and rectangular, the Multi Table comes in three sizes and four distinctive finishes that you can then pair with one (or more) of our Multi Table leg options.”

First of all, these pictures make this table look like it would be the perfect side to any modern living or bedroom area, second, take a look at the various uses. Not bad, eh?
“The Tall CU side table by Kristalia is functional as a table, bench, or service top… use next to a sofa, near a bed, or even in the garden or a public place. Made of rigid moulded polyurethane. Suitable for outdoor use. Sturdy and easy to clean. Versatile and practical to use anywhere!”

This plank wood coffee/cocktail table catches the eye not only for the type of wood used, but also that it only has three legs. It seems to have the same sort of shape of the Girard Table, but in a less refined and rugged sort of way.
” Absolutely natural cocktail table in solid Margosa. Each table is made from an individual plank of wood and is completely unique.
The wood is dried for several months and allowed to develop natural cracks and separations. After being shaped, it is finished with a natural wax for protection.”

This has got to be one of the most bizarre pieces of furniture I’ve seen.
“Design your own personal drum table with interchangeable percussion inserts. Choose from four different sized tables to suit your musical and space needs. The smallest table accepts four of the smaller instruments and the largest accepts sixteen.”

I’m impressed that this is under $50.
“Sturdy handmade iron rod frame with intricate sunburst of wire weaves together 60s groove, ethnic handicrafts, smart stacking functionality. Colorful olivine, yolk and grey epoxy powdercoat finishes are rustproof.”

The surface of these are smooth enough to look slightly like a cartoon version of a stump, which I find entirely amusing. A few of these next to a serious sofa could tone it down a bit and keep things humorous.
“These stools have a soft curve for comfort and the table’s flat surface holds a drink. At 17″ high and 21″ diameter, they’re happiest in multiples (like a forest)…”

This is my favorite find of the week, if not a contender for this month. It has an affordable price tag as well as being designed in a smart way (for the reasons listed below), and- probably most importantly- it looks really sharp.
“Composed of two laser-cut and slotted sheets of steel, the Origami tables ship flat and require no tools or hardware to assemble. One sheet is the negative of the other, which eliminates waste during production and gives the tables a balanced, yet dynamic, form. The petal-like surfaces are sturdy and spacious, making a practical and sculptural side table, night stand or plant stand.”

I have seen this before, but it wasn’t until I saw it in a room setting did I fully appreciate the detail of the base. It’s really a beautiful table, and even though it has a higher price tag it might be a good time to take the plunge and add something to your collection that you’ll most likely appreciate for years and years.
“The beautifully grained base flares and narrows in six arcs, creating a look of poised animation. Each upright is accented by brass hardware and is the balance point for the 3/4″ glass top. Reminiscent of the iconic Noguchi Table, the Moebius is a classic in its own right, blending rhythmic form with straightforward function.”

I was at my friend’s great loft last weekend, and right in front of his >$18,000 sofa is this little blocky table. Certain that it too came with a large price tag, I was quite surprised to find out it was a $100 solid* wood table from Ikea. The photo doesn’t really do it justice. This little guy can hold his own in sophisticated settings. Trust me on this one.
The lower tray is completely removable.
edit: it’s actually not solid wood. But it certainly feels like it.
