Round coffee tables are excellent for living areas, and this one has the extra benefit of being flat packed, so no worries about not fitting through doorways or exorbitant shipping charges.

Urban Hardwoods has such a wide variety of beautiful pieces, all handmade from salvaged wood in Seattle. I found them while drooling over a coffee table (lower right), and I’d recommend taking a look through their collection if you’re fond of modern wood pieces.

Call me crazy, but I love the fabric on this coffee table/ottoman. I want it.
An antique and decorative tribal textile made in Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and other Central Asian countries, suzani-or needlework-is synonymous with that region’s glorious embroideries. Traditionally used as wall hangings and prayer mats, they were a treasured addition to a bride’s dowry. I’m looking to replace my coffee table, and, as luck would have it, I ran across this one. It only costs fifty five thousand freaking dollars. What a steal. I could pay for a small house or a nice luxury car, or I could buy this coffee table…decisions, decisions. (To be fair, it’s amazing, only 6 exist, and it’s entirely cast bronze, so sure, it’s worth a lot…yet I still think it crosses into the bounds of extreme excess.)
