flying carpet

I’m reposting this because I found an inexpensive source. I’m also reposting it just because I really love it.

If you’re going for the whole Eddie Murphy* aesthetic, may I recommend this flying carpet rug?

*It is reported that when Eddie first hit it big, he furnished his home only with white carpets–no furniture.

“A life at ground level, a soft and relaxing topography, a domestic oasis, carpets that fly! Flying Carpet is more than just a simple carpet. Its topography turns it into a comfortable and amusing three-dimensional space to sit, stretch and relax, either in domestic or public areas. Any of its corners can be lifted by wedges covered in natural grey felt.

Wedge is constructed of expanded polystyrene and covered with 100% wool felt. Sold separately.”

Small Wedge: 42W x 42D x 13H

Big Wedge: 55W x 55D x 21H

Rondo Wool/Cotton Rug

Dhurrie rugs (more of a flat, tight weave) are really quite durable and not nearly as expensive as most wool pile rugs. These have a nice pattern and would be an easy and affordable way to change the look of a living room or hallway.

“Durable, dhurrie weave in a modern, repeating pattern. Available in two color schemes that contrast solid chocolate with lively aqua or lime…Reversible with same design on both sides. Woven in wool/cotton. Bound on all four sides.”

Stone Rug

This is such a nice rug…the organic pattern adds interest without overpowering a room.

“Hand tufted of 100% New Zealand wool, the rug’s circular motif was inspired by the naturally occurring pattern of rocks in the ocean. The design’s organic shapes are highlighted by Adams’ use of rich color and pile, which adds depth and texture to the rugs.”

100% New Zealand wool; cotton monk’s cloth; latex.

hardwood rug

Here’s something decidedly different. Seems like it would be perfect for high-traffic areas that need a little somethin’.

“A small and portable piece of hardwood flooring on rubber, which, because of its iconic shape, is instantly associated with a rug. Created to help domesticate industrial spaces or areas with basic flooring, the hardwood rug can be easily rolled up for transport.”

8′ x 10′ overlapping squares graphic rug

About one month ago I was looking for an 8′ x 10′ rug. It’s the perfect size for a sofa, coffee table and two chairs. I looked and looked and couldn’t find anything I wanted that I could afford. I ended up getting something with different dimensions. If I had seen this, I would have snapped it up.
