I know this might sound awfully materialistic, but my life would be so much better if I had this desk. At 72 inches wide and 30 inches deep, it’d be the perfect sized surface to spread out projects and miscellany. Plus, it just looks good.

You have your choice of white powder coated frame with white laminate top or black powder coated frame with Santos Rosewood top.

The Elementare desk is made of 1/2″ thick tempered glass and optionally comes with a small glass shelf below the top.

When real estate is at a premium, this pivot workstation (which expands to reveal a tiny desk) is perfect for anyone who just has a few files to store and isn’t a compulsive worker. Actually, it’s nice to think about having a workspace that’s available only when you need it instead of having it beckon you to sit down and work or check your email. What a concept.

So has anybody bought any of this yet? I’m really quite curious to know how it looks. Is it of decent quality? For those of you that haven’t seen or heard about Target’s new take on furniture (or rather, it’s forray into the affordable modernish crowd of furniture), this is a sample of some of the “Vintage Modern” collection. It looks pretty promising, but who knows.

Adjustable height desk sold by Vitra. A little pricey, but no doubt it’s well constructed and it would long outlast an Ikea reproduction.

If you are lucky enough to have a large studio space, this is the desk for you. It has a Melamine top and a powder-coated aluminum base. You can also purchase “blotters” for dividing the space on the fly.

Designed in 1958 by Franco Albini, the albini desk features a shelving unit (in ebonized oak wood or white) that appears to float in mid air, a 1/2″ thick glass top, and a chrome finished body. The rear of the shelving unit has an opening for magazines.

This is a handy little desk. And it has two of my favorite features: stowability and bentwood. Folds flat for when you’re not using it.

Now, here’s a desk for limited space…at 34″ wide, you can fit it in a closet if you so desire (though you might not want to since it looks so nice). It’s got a roll-out keyboard tray and a hole in the back to put your unsightly wires through.
