If you’re not particularly detail-oriented when it comes to your desktop/workspace aesthetic, then you won’t care at all about a tape dispenser. Sometimes the simplest innovations have the biggest impact. Imagine the possibilities for storing your favorite (magnetic) things with these magnet tacks. Hold your hand up if you want an etched acrylic ruler. My hand is raised, how about yours? Designed by Paul Cocksedge, these rulers are sculptural pieces with millimeter accuracy, and they’re intended for functional use, mind you, so don’t just admire it from across the room. The Midori collection over at baum-kuchen has me adding a few desk accessories to my shopping list, namely, these brass clip numbers. Each clip is made of solid brass and could be used as a bookmark/place holder or simply to keep small paper items together. I think they’d be handy in a planner to mark out months for easy reference.

Perhaps you find yourself fiddling with tape too often- without a proper dispenser, it can be a little silly to search for the end time after time. As luck would have it, this walnut tape cutter is on sale for $30, down from $50. And, if you’re fond of using many different washi tapes on the same project, it looks like it would be easy to switch the tapes out as it’s easy to access from the side.

You and I could both think of hundreds (of thousands) of things more exciting than paper shredders. Either they’re behemoths of ugly office design or they’re too small to get through a decent stack of documents, meaning you waste time standing there feeding in sheet by sheet, shaking your fist at your laziness to get rid of sensitive documents in a timely manner. Now, this Bridge Paper Shredder won’t handle stacks at a time, but it does fit on top of any small trash can, meaning you can tuck it away in a drawer when not in use. It’s lightweight, so it could foreseeably fit in a travel bag if needed. And, it won’t hurt your design sensibilities, which means you’re more likely to stay on top of your shredding duties… rrright? Fingers crossed.
