iHome iP41 Rotating Alarm Clock for iPhone or iPod

Yep, this alarm clock will wake you up or put you to sleep with your own tunes plus charge your gadget all the while. You can also watch videos in landscape mode on your iPhone or iPod simply by rotating the iHome clock (though I don’t really know how a video would help you wake up). All this would mean nothing, of course, if it wasn’t nice to look at.

Galactic LED Clock

Here’s another hard-to-read time telling device to add to the ever expanding list. (I post this as more of a novelty item than a truly useful one.)

The Galactic LED clock looks as if it was taken straight from the bridge of the starship enterprise. The clock in the picture reads 12:34. 1 – 2 -3 – 4 ….clever huh? The clock can be set to change the time display every second, every minute, or every 4 seconds. there are three brightness levels that can be set by the user. The clock uses the latest LED technology, which means that the lights will last indefinitely. The clock is available in black or silver and can be wall mounted or freestanding. It measures 10-1/4″ x 3″ x 1″ deep and operates off of the included AC plug-in adapter.

Unfinished Clock

Seeing as the rectangle version is no longer available, you might want to snap up the round version quick if it’s your sort of thing. (I know I like it, but have waay too many clocks to add any more to my collection.)

This atypical version of a typical clock is designed to be displayed at the edge of a shelf or mantel. Eye-catching, it appears to be only the top half of a clock, but the hands fully rotate. Made of powder-coated steel with aluminum hands. One AA battery included.

Size: Round: 5.25h x 8w x 2.75″d

Word Clock

Who needs numbers to tell the time? Certainly not anyone who has this word clock.

The clock consists of two adjacent rolls, contained in a clear acrylic tube. A red mark indicates the line that should be read to tell the time. The left roll spells out five minute increments of time. The right roll contains the numbers one to twelve, spelled out. The gearing is such that as the minutes turn to “twenty-five minutes to,” the hour roll advances.

Materials: Acrylic, plastic.

Water Clock

Hmm. Perhaps this leans more towards the art category than time telling as far as functionality, but either way it’s an interesting idea.

Kouichi Okamoto’s Water Clock tells time with water and magnets. Inside the ceramic base are 2 rotating magnets which attract 2 balls – the red one showing the hours, the white one the minutes.

Will work with any plate, glass, combination thereof or anything that can hold water.

‘Just A Moment’ Clock

This is a different sort of way to tell the time…

Swiss Railway Clock

Precise time keeping is this clock’s claim to fame. Simple bold graphics work like a charm.

Based on railway engineer Hans Hilfiker’s 1940s classic, the Swiss Railway Station Clock is a standard throughout European train stations, with over 3,000 clocks keeping precision time.
The straightforward black and white face with a red second hand is easy to read from a distance. Made by Mondaine with a brushed steel case and German clock movement, the clock was included in the Museum’s Tempo exhibition.

One AA battery is required (not included) for the 10″ clock. Two AA batteries are required for the 15.75″ clock, which can also be run using the included AC adapter.
Small: 10″ diam., $195.00
Large: 15.75″ diam., $395.00
