We are very saddened to hear that the extremely talented Tobias Wong passed away in his home in Manhattan on May 30th. He will be missed. Full press release below. D. TOBIAS WONG, 1974-2010 D. Tobias Wong, the Canadian-born, New York-based artist and designer, passed away in the early morning of Sunday, May 30, 2010. He was 35. ICFF 2010 Pics are In!
Written by Troy on June 3, 2010. Permalink
Ok, I'm a little late getting the pics back to you, I'm sorry, but ICFF was uh-mazing! My jaw actually dropped a few times especially at the prototype items that were there...creativity was definitely not in short supply. And kudos to the design universities that were there helping their students get some exposure, including Parsons, whose students really steamed my brocolli with their ingenuity...wooden furniture made by termites, seats held together by bungee cords so you feel like you're floating on air... Check out the Flickr slideshow to see my pics, like the one above featuring the guys from Studio…

Hello. There's a few reader's questions that I haven't been able to find/answer. Can any of you help? First, Claire's search for wallpaper: "It was by a female designer possibly Scandinavian, her designs were all multicoloured, 4 different designs including repeat patterns of snow capped mountains with goats, rabbits and other silouhette images. Another one featured, red foxes. Also one with a large crab print allover. I have spent hours trying to find it again online but just can't locate them. Any suggestions or ideas of who the designer is would be most welcome as it is starting to drive…

What chair is this?
Written by Katie on January 29, 2010. Permalink
Hey, one of your fellow readers, Maureen, emailed to ask what this chair is called. Usually I'd quickly respond with the answer, along with a link and price (as is my habit when responding to one of you), but in this particular case, I cannot think of the name nor manufacturer. Surely one of you might have an idea? Please reach into your memory and let us know by commenting, or emailing, if that's more your style. (The picture above is from DWR's Freja Sofa, but I certainly don't remember them ever carrying a chair like that.) UPDATE: Mark, a…
