Maplemap Hanging Lamp

This is such a lovely light…

The lamp, designed by Ani+Lumigrane, was debuted at IDS08 and was an instant success. Co-created by Frederic Guibrunet, a paper-maker with a decade of practice, and Parisian Didier Boursin, an expert in origami. Their talents combined into a paper explosion of maple leaves that looks gorgeous on and off.

Quite similar in feel to the Twitchen Lampshade, this lampshade captures one of nature’s best saturated hues.

These are lamp shades only, for table lamps or hanging ficture lamps. There is a universal metal ring that fits between the fixture and the lightbulb. 60 Watt max. Lamp/Lamp by Hironao Tsuboi

We posted this about a year ago and I had forgotten all about it, which maybe means you did too.

“It’s hard to think of a light source as mundane as the naked bulb…. but, in a surprising twist, the Lamp/Lamp gives it a new and delightfully absurd personality by simply adding an extra socket.”

3.75″W x 3″L x 2.25″H

Update: A representative from DARK says “this is initially designed by Davy Grosemans. DARK took this lamp in collection in 2003 (Davy designed it in 2002). 4 years before Hironao ‘designed’ this.” Hmm.
