Normann Copenhagen’s Whisk

No, it’s not one of those head massager thingamajigs, it’s a whisk. Design duo LucidiPevere upgraded the materials to durable bamboo and plastic, and the result is most certainly lovelier (if a whisk can be lovely) than the metal version in most of our kitchens. Other colors below.

Link by Studio Dreimann

So smart! This little silicone thingy transforms your cutlery into a a pair of tongs or salad servers. It can also act as training wheels for chopsticks, but that would look pretty silly in a restaurant so only do that at home.

Flow Measuring Cups

These stoneware measuring cups are probably best suited for a weekend cook who has the time to use measuring cups without handles. I’m not sure how practical they are but I do think they’re lovely. Since I barely cook or bake I’d be fine using them, but they may not be suitable for someone that spends a lot of time in the kitchen.

Click ‘N Cook Spatula System

Hmm, take a look at these kitchen utensils. You’re seeing a modular spatula system sourced from Quirky, which features several attachments that snap into a universal handle and are released by clicking the button. Not being all that adept in the kitchen, I’m not sure of the pros and cons, but it does appear to be a good idea.

Included in the set: storage block, ergonomic handle, and five detachable spatula heads.

Trio Herb Pot

From our archives (originally published March 14, 2008), for your gift list consideration… to see more, visit our Gift Guide.

I can picture this quite clearly upon my kitchen windowsill.

“Scandinavian in its simple, unadorned and practical design, this ceramic pot is an ingenious way of enjoying fresh herbs much like flowers: Insert a bunch in the enlarged opening, and keep hydrated by pouring water into the corner hole. The broad base ensures that all those little stalks have access to water, while allowing air to circulate so herbs keep from becoming limp and waterlogged. Easy to take apart for cleaning.”
