Penguin Mini Notebooks

Sadly, the Penguin merchandise seems to be heading in the same direction of Pantone: oversaturation. However, if you can get beyond the fact that there’s way too many products to choose from, there’s quite a few gems. Many items would be excellent gifts, of course, separately or grouped together. There also looks to be Penguin deckchairs and tea towels, though no retailer seems to have any in stock (shoot).

Leuchtturm Peka Springback Binder

If you care about presentation, or just simply the way papers or collections are kept, you’ll probably nerd out a little with me about this binder. Originating around 1917 from the KABE Verlag (KABE publication) company, the Springback binder was intended to instantly bind documents into a book, singly or in batches. A hidden binding can be opened and closed to rearrange or add contents, making it functional as a regular binder yet more secure as with a book cover. Keep in mind that the spine of the binder is rather large to accommodate the function, but I’d say that’s a small price to pay for such a finished look.

Polapost Polaroid Postcards

Revive the polaroid (and postcards) with these Polaposts. You simply insert your regular photos inside the white bordered sleeve, seal it, slap on a stamp (and a message on the writable backside, if you wish) and stick it in the mail. The recipient of your photo will be pleased, I’m sure.

Spaces for Ideas Expandable Sketchbook

If you have to put pen to paper to sketch out your ideas, then take a look at this expandable sketchbook. While the book measures a smaller A6 size (14.8cm high and 12.5cm wide with spine), each of its 5 pages expands into a larger A3 size. Not a bad size for something that fits easily into your bag. Also, for Design Sojourn’s 1st Birthday, they are offering free shipping for any amount of sketchbooks you purchase. (Birthday sale is over.)

Stipee Bookmarks

How much do you like these bookmark sets? I might love them, I really might. Each bookmark has a re-usable glue like a sticky label, so they’ll last for a few months. When I was looking around for images to use for this post I found a whole bunch of other Stipee Bookmarks around $8.00 from Japanese Gift Market. My favorites are the Savanna and Forest, mostly because I like the landscapes, but there’s more than a handful of other ones to choose from (Numbers (color) could be fun to use too).
