Never in my days did I think I’d see a wall mounting toilet. I would definitely consider this in my next bath remodel.

This piece is a multi function sink/shower/storage unit in one.

Available in matte or glossy white, this one piece-dual sink unit is an above counter installation which can be either installed with faucets integrated in the unit or wall mounted.

I was in the amazing Herzog & De Meuron designed Prada store in Tokyo last year, design-gawking. The dressing room was just off to the side with the only walls made of transparent glass. I went in, and unable to easily ask for assistance, fumbled around for a bit until I saw a button on the floor, which I stepped on, causing the glass to appear to immediately fog-up. I now know, of course, that it was not fog but instead polymer liquid-crystal optics. In the natural state, liquid crystal droplets are aligned randomly in the polymer and the reflective index of liquid crystal does not match that of polymer (np ? ne), so the incident lights are scattered, resulting in a translucent state. When an electrical field is applied, the liquid crystal droplets reorient so their extraordinary relective index matches that of polymer (np = ne), resulting in a transparent state.

What are the implications for those of us who didn’t really like science class? Well, in residential applications it means that you can have rooms that transform from public to private spaces with the flick of a switch.

Not a bad price for a faucet and matching drain. Also comes with an optional decking plate for 3-hole installations.

This amazing sink is designed so that the water disappears when it hits the surface and goes down the drain hidden in the back. Who ever fills up a sink anymore anyway?

I stayed with some friends recently while in NYC and I didn’t realize how pathetically wimpy my towels were until I used theirs. They’re thick and absorbent and what a towel should be. And they’re on sale at Bloomingdales.

Thank goodness. I’d say it’s about time that everyone have a clear understanding that tissue boxes are so much nicer when they are covered up. Made of matte stainless steel for standard size cosmetic tissues, suitable for wall mounting as well.
